🌌 The Night Trail
😱 A chilling night, a mysterious figure... and a life-changing truth

👦🏼 Hello friends! My name is waseem. Today, I want to share an unforgettable experience from my childhood... an incident that changed my life forever.
I was just 11 years old at that time. I lived in a small town, right next to a dense forest 🌲🌲. Our house was on the edge of town, very close to the woods. My school, however, was located in the heart of the town 🏫.
There were two routes to reach my school:
1️⃣ A long one through the town, safe and busy
2️⃣ A shortcut through the forest — quiet, peaceful, but a little scary 👣🌳
Even though people used the forest trail during the day for morning walks, no one dared to cross it at night. It would get pitch dark, and the eerie silence of the forest made it feel haunted.
One day during winter, I had to stay back at school for annual day rehearsals. It got late, and I didn’t want to walk the long route.
So I gathered some courage and took the shortcut through the woods 🌌🌲.
As I entered the trail, it was already getting dark. The sun had set, the crickets were chirping, and howls of distant animals echoed. My heart started pounding 💓.
There was hardly any moonlight — just a half-moon and a few fireflies lighting up my path 🔦🐞. Dry leaves crunched under my feet 🍂 with every step, making the silence even scarier.
Suddenly…
👣 I heard footsteps behind me.
I stopped. The sound stopped.
I walked faster. The footsteps got faster 😨.
> “Who’s there?! Hello? Anyone??” I shouted into the darkness.
But… no reply. Just strange, whispering sounds from the woods.
Terrified, I thought a wild animal was following me. I wanted to run, but I didn’t want to lose the trail in the dark.
Then, as I looked back…
I saw a tall, white figure — like a human in a white robe 👻!
Was it a ghost? A spirit?
I’d heard stories, but never believed them — until now.
My hands trembled, legs froze. My breath got heavier.
I asked again, louder, “Is anyone there?!”
Suddenly, I slipped and fell hard on the ground 😣. My leg hurt badly.
> “This is it,” I thought. “The ghost is going to get me!”
But something inside me said: Don’t give up. Get up.
So I stood up, limping, and continued walking 🦵🏻🚶🏻♂️.
After a few painful steps, I saw lights in the distance — my neighborhood! 😍
Hope filled my heart. I ran, faster than I ever had before.
I reached my home safely, locked the door, shut the windows, and collapsed in my bed.
That night, even in my dreams… I saw that white ghost 👀👻.
Next morning, when I came to the living room,
I was shocked to see someone sitting on our sofa, wearing the same white robe 😱.
But as I moved closer…
It was Father Francis, the kind priest from our local church!
He smiled warmly and said:
> “Well done, my child. You were very brave last night.”
I was confused. “Father, how do you know what happened?!”
He chuckled softly and replied:
> “Because, waseem… I was the one walking behind you.”
> “I saw you were scared, so I tried to come closer. But you walked so fast!”
> “When you fell, I rushed to help… but then you vanished ahead into the woods.”
> “Also, I couldn’t answer your calls because I had mouth anesthesia from the dentist. I literally couldn’t speak!”
I stood there in complete shock... and relief.
> “So… there was no ghost?” I asked.
He nodded and smiled.
> “No ghost, just your imagination. But what matters is, you didn’t panic. You were brave, cautious, and stayed calm.”
> “At such a young age, you showed courage and presence of mind — I’m proud of you.”
🧠 Moral of the Story:
That night, I learned something powerful —
🎯 “Fear lives in the mind. Face it, and it disappears.”
Being brave doesn’t mean not being scared…
It means moving forward despite the fear.
That experience shaped me into a stronger person — and I hope my story inspires you too 💪✨.
