An Ignored Myth In the heart of the Himalayas, concealed behind towering peaks and unexplored valleys, was the myth of Zaloria, a lost kingdom of gold and wisdom. A secret city where power and knowledge coexisted harmoniously was the subject of stories that were passed down through the generations. However, those who had sought it never returned. For Arjun Das, an ambitious young explorer, the legend was more than just a myth—it was a calling. A well-known historian, his grandfather had spent his entire life looking for information about Zaloria but had never found it. When Arjun was going through his grandfather's old study one day, he came across an amazing find: a fragile, old map made of parchment with cryptic symbols pointing to a hidden entrance. Determined to solve the mystery that had eluded so many, he set off on an expedition, accompanied by his best friend Nina, an expert mountaineer, and Rahul, a brilliant linguist and tech genius.
The Adventure Begins In Ladakh, they followed the coordinates of an ancient map through perilous snow-covered peaks and steep cliffs. They trekked for days, facing icy winds, avalanches, and treacherous terrain.
As they reached the Cave of Echoes, a narrow passage between the mountains, their path was suddenly blocked by an avalanche.
As she looked over the rock walls, Nina said, "We need to find another way." Rahul carefully examined the map. “Wait, take a look at this sign. It denotes a different underground route. Arjun noticed a faint mark after they searched the cave walls. When he ran his fingers over it, the rock suddenly shifted, revealing a dark passageway. As they entered, the air became icy and the darkness reverberated with eerie whispers. The ground beneath them collapsed—and they tumbled down a long, winding tunnel!
The Warning of the Guardians When they finally landed, they found themselves in a vast underground chamber. The walls were adorned with ancient carvings of three warrior kings, and in the center stood three massive stone statues.
Arjun brushed off the dust and read an inscription carved into the floor:
"The pure of heart are the only ones who can enter Zaloria." If you don't make a wise decision, you won't return." After he finished reading, the statues started moving. Each guardian posed a trial:
The First Guardian tested Arjun’s wisdom, presenting him with a riddle.
The Second Guardian tested Nina’s courage, challenging her to walk across a collapsing stone bridge.
Rahul's honesty was put to the test by the Third Guardian, who only asked him one question about his true intentions. The statues stepped aside as they approached the trials, revealing an ancient symbol-covered golden door. As they pushed it open, a dazzling light engulfed them.
The Golden City
They saw the lost kingdom of Zaloria when they emerged, which was an amazing sight. The city was breathtaking: towering golden palaces, floating crystal lanterns, and shimmering waterfalls cascading into rivers of liquid silver. The very air hummed with an ancient energy.
But something was strange. The city was silent—no people, no movement, only echoes of the past.
They followed a path lined with golden statues, leading to a grand temple. Inside, on an altar, they found the Heart of Zaloria—a massive crystal, pulsing with a mysterious energy.
Rahul whispered in awe, “This must be the source of Zaloria’s power.”
Arjun studied the walls, which told the kingdom’s story. The people of Zaloria had mastered both science and magic, but greed had brought them down. To keep its power from being misused, the Heart of Zaloria had been sealed away. Then, the ground shook violently.
The Final Trial
From the temple's depths, a gloomy shadow that resembled an ancient spirit with a curse rose. It had once been a king who had tried to steal the Heart’s power for himself.
“If I cannot have it,” the spirit hissed, “then no one shall!”
The temple began to collapse, the golden walls cracking, the floors splitting apart. The city was crumbling!
Arjun knew what had to be done. He grabbed the Heart of Zaloria and, remembering the guardian’s words, spoke from his heart:
"Power, not wisdom, is what we seek. We wish to protect, not destroy."
A blinding light erupted from the crystal, engulfing the darkness. The spirit let out a final, piercing scream before disappearing forever.
A Treasure Beyond Gold
With the city stable again, the three explorers stood in silence. Zaloria’s true treasure was not gold, but knowledge.
Knowing the world was not ready for such power, they sealed the entrance and marked the map with a warning.
They did not bring any riches with them when they left, but they did bring a story that would last a lifetime. because there are mysteries that should be kept a secret.
