The Kingdom of Sin There was a prophecy in the kingdom of Valdris about a silent warrior who would one day rise to break an old curse. Rivers had dried up, crops had stopped growing, and dark creatures had been roaming the land's forests for decades. Among the people who lived in fear, Aric, a young hunter from a small village, suffered the most. Aric, in contrast to others, did not speak. He had been mute since birth, but his sharp mind and unmatched skill with a bow made him one of the best hunters in the land.
Aric came across a frail and injured elderly man while deep in the Whispering Woods hunting one day. He assisted the newcomer and carried him back to the village without delay. That evening, the elderly man spoke authoritatively, "You are destined to break the curse," I stated. Aric's eyes grew wider. He pointed to himself, confused.
The old man gave a nod. “Yes, you. The Silent Warfighter. The solution can be found in the Eldoria Ruins. But beware—the journey is filled with trials that will test your heart.”
Aric had always felt like an outsider because of his inability to speak, but something inside him stirred. It's possible that this was his true calling. With a determined heart, he packed his bow, a quiver of arrows, and set off on his journey.
The Shadow Beasts, the Initial Testimony As Aric approached the Ruins of Eldoria, he sensed something unnatural. From the gloom, he was suddenly surrounded by creatures of the night with glowing red eyes. They roared like wolves and moved quickly. Aric was aware that he could not face them all head-on. Instead, he climbed a nearby tree, using his agility to stay above their reach. He took out his bow and fired arrows with precise aim, striking the creatures in their weak spots—between their glowing eyes.
The shadow creatures fell one by one, until the last one let out a ferocious roar and vanished into the night. The first trial had been won by Aric, who had overcome brute force. The Maze of Echoes: The Second Trial Was beyond the ruin the Maze of Echoes, a place where even the bravest warriors were lost for good. The maze had numerous winding paths, and there were whispers in the air, making it hard to tell which path was genuine. Aric closed his eyes and concentrated. To navigate the world, he had always relied on his other senses. Instead of listening to the misleading whispers, he felt the wind blow through the corridors. He ignored the voices that were trying to deceive him and moved in the direction of the air's natural flow. After careful movement for several hours, he finally saw the exit. He got through the maze, which had tried to fool his brain, with patience and instinct. The Heart of the Curse: The Final Trial An ancient temple glowed with a sinister energy in the midst of the ruin. A tall, unoccupied throne inside was surrounded by shadow chains. As Aric stepped forward, the air grew heavy, and a deep, rumbling voice filled the chamber.
"You cannot escape this curse. You are weak. You are silent. You are nothing."
The shadows twisted together, forming a dark figure with piercing red eyes. It was the Spirit of the Curse, the very force that had been plaguing Valdris for decades.
Aric clenched his fists. He couldn't talk, but that didn't make him worthless without words. The spirit, whose form was like smoke, lunged at him. Aric used his bow to strike at the throne's chains as he quickly dodged. With each broken chain, the spirit howled in pain.
The spirit, on the other hand, altered its strategy later. Aric was subjected to cruel thoughts from it: "You don't have a voice. You won't be followed. You will fail."
Doubt clouded Aric's thoughts for a split second. But then he thought back to something that Elder Nira had previously told him: "A voice is not only spoken; it is also manifested in your actions, choices, and way of life." Aric’s determination returned. He aimed his final arrow, not at the spirit, but at the center of the throne—where the curse’s power was strongest.
The arrow was successful with a final shot. The throne shattered, and the spirit let out a final, defeated wail before dissolving into the wind.
The curse was broken. The Return of the Silent Warrior
The Valdris land came back to life as the darkness subsided. The people were able to feel the warmth of the sun once more, crops began to grow, and rivers resumed their flow. When Aric got back to the village, everyone gave him a warm welcome and expressed their thanks. Though he never spoke a word, his actions had told a story of bravery, wisdom, and resilience.
He was no longer referred to as the mute hunter, but rather as "the Silent Warrior," the person who had saved a kingdom without speaking a word.
