Sonic Adventure Custom Yugioh Deck
A fan made deck about a popular franchise
Welcome Reader: today I’ll be talking about a franchise that has so much content that they didn’t have a Yugioh collaboration. Sonic the Hedgehog is a franchise from the Sonic Team that tells stories of a blue hedgehog and the journeys he embarks on while saving the day against villains like Dr. Eggman.

Translating the characters and abilities into the yugioh atmosphere was not only fun but allowed me to explore more into the lore and enjoy the franchise that much more.
This deck focuses on special summoning from the hand or graveyard when your opponent attacks, and gathering all the chaos emeralds to summon the ultimate monster. This version of the Sonic series will focus on the games “Sonic Adventure 1 & 2”.

We are starting with Sonic the Hedgehog. This card is the main character of the series (considering having the same name) where he is tied to all the other characters from the series. This card not only summons itself from the hand or graveyard when you are attacked.
It can negate the attack as well keeping your card safe. It also has the added effect to add a "Sonic" spell or trap card or any card that mentions Sonic from your deck to your hand, With his friend "Tails" on the field, he has protection from being targeted.

Miles 'Tails' Prower is the best friend of Sonic and his most faithful alley. This tech genius is always creating gadgets and tinkering with tech. With his massive armory, he always makes sure to help sonic. That being said, his ability allows him to summon another monster from the hand or graveyard. This effect is due to Tails loyalty to his friend and ability to fly them around if trapped or in danger.

Knuckles the Echidna is a character who was once the enemy of sonic. He always came with a strong sense of justice and is a guardian of of the master emerald. This cards effect lowers your opponents attack by 1000. This card also allows you to get the Master Emerald which is a spell card in the deck. By adding chaos counters Knuckles is one step closer to gathering all the emeralds.

Amy Rose is one of the main female characters of the series. She is able to stop time for long periods during the sonic adventure battle games and she carries a large hammer as her weapon of choice. She is obsessed with sonic and is always finding ways to be with sonic.
Her effect allows you to negate an opponents card effect once per turn. The card is returned to the owners hand after it's negated and removed enough.

The original Shadow the Hedgehog is a monster that summons itself from the hand only when you are attacked by your opponent. upon doing so you can add 1 trap card from your deck to your hand. This card also had the ability to inflict burn damage to your opponent. Banishing itself was this cards way of applying its teleporting abilities.

Rouge the Bat is a cunning, jewel-obsessed treasure hunter and government spy in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. Known for her charm and confidence, she often works for G.U.N. but follows her own agenda. She's loyal to her friends, particularly Shadow, and balances between heroism and self-interest.
Once she’s summoned from the hand, she banishes 1 card from the opposing grave. She can also shuffle a card from the grave like a jewel and gain attack for it.

Dr. Eggman, also known as Dr. Ivo Robotnik, is the main antagonist in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. He is a brilliant but evil scientist with a grand ambition to conquer the world and establish his own empire, often referred to as the “Eggman Empire.” His character is defined by his genius-level intellect, especially in robotics and engineering, and his obsession with defeating Sonic the Hedgehog.
He destroys monsters in order to summon himself or to take control of an opposing monster to do his bidding. He even uses his own creations to take the defeat instead of him.

Metal Sonic is a monster created by Dr. Eggman himself. For the purpose to defeat Sonic, this card negates card effects that activate from the hand or graveyard. This card also has built in protection from your opponent’s card effects.
Metal Sonic is a robotic doppelgänger of Sonic the Hedgehog, created by Dr. Eggman. Designed to match Sonic's speed and abilities, Metal Sonic serves as a relentless, powerful adversary.

We have Super Sonic who is one of the ultimate monsters of the deck. This card can only be summon with the master emerald spell card. Like in the games, you have to gather all the chaos emerald pieces in order to transform Sonic into this form.
In case this card is stuck in your hand or graveyard, you are able to banish it so you can get an extra draw. As a monster in the field, it is unaffected by card effects and remains on the field as along as you have ring counters. This is a direct correlation to the games where Sonic loses rings the longer he is in this form. His main effect can negate a card effect.

Super Shadow is the second main boss monster of the deck. This card (similar to Super Sonic) can only be summoned by the master emerald spell. It also shares the effects of banishing itself from the gland or graveyard to draw 1 card.
Unlike super sonic, this card can attack directly. Though it still uses rings counters to remain on the field so it’s crucial to have as many ring counters as possible to keep these cards on the field.

Baby Chao is a monster that’s known as one of the small characters in the franchise that you get to raise and use for various things like battle or racing. These characters are very popular in the games and very prominent in the franchise.
This card allows you to get their realm “Chao Garden” to your hand. Similar to the yugioh card “Red Eyes Black Chick” and cards similar, this card can tribute itself to summon another version of itself like “Dark Chaos Chao” or “Angel Chaos Chao”

Angel Chaos Chao is a monster where the Chao monsters evolve and essential grows up to be. As one of the paths to take, this Angel Chao brings grace and prosperity to its fellow creatures. Thus, this card is able to either gain life points or increase your monsters attack due to the certain card in the graveyard.
An Angel Chaos Chao is an immortal, evolved Hero Chao in *Sonic Adventure*, achieved by balanced animal care over three life cycles. It has a peaceful, glowing appearance with a halo.

Dark Chaos Chao is the dark equivalent of the Chao path to take upon evolution. From the support Angel Chaos Chao gives, this card is all about weakening your opponent’s monsters and inflicting burn damage to your opponent.
A Dark Chaos Chao is an immortal, evolved Dark Chao in *Sonic Adventure*, achieved through balanced care over three life cycles. It has a sinister appearance with dark, shadowy features and red eyes.

Starting with the spell cards we have Chao Garden. This card sends a monster to your graveyard which helps get to your “super” monsters. As this card remains in the graveyard, it provides battle protection from your Chao monsters due to it only being accessible once you finish a level from the games.
A Chao Garden is a virtual pet-raising area in *Sonic Adventure* games where players care for Chao, nurturing them with animals and items to influence their evolution, abilities, and personalities.

The Master Emerald is a continuous spell card that helps build chaos counters in order to summon your boss monsters, “Super Sonic” and “Super Shadow”. While all of this cards effects revolve around chaos counters, this card can only hold up to 7 chaos counters. This represents the 7 chaos emeralds on the franchise.

Closing out the spell cards we have the field spell Green Hill Zone. This card not only grants itself ring counters for you to use but also uses the same counters to protect your monsters from destruction. This field spell is also the home to most of these creatures and cultivated the franchise.

The one trap card of the deck is a continuous trap card known as Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. This card is a direct reference to the second alliteration of the games. This game not only introduces Shadow the Hedgehog but developed story and gameplay that would later lead into the Sonic X Shadow Generations game that is set to come out later this month.
This card has some “The True Light” trap card effects in it. Special Summoning 1 hedgehog monster from your hand or grave while also adding chaos and ring counters to the cards that can hold them. On top of all that, it can trigger the monster effects of the monsters that it summons as a resolution effect.

Closing out we have extra deck monsters to further encompass the sonic adventure deck. Neutral Chaos Chao is known as one of the strongest and most difficult of the creatures to be formed and raised up.
This card is also created to be that as well. By using at least 3 monsters (similar to the black luster soldier link monster) this card can send any of the 2 Chao support cards to the grave for further protection if needed. It protects itself from being targeted and depending on which card is in the grave, determines its effects.
