My First Day at College

The day when 'The Dream' came true

Interesting Facts about my College

In the life of every student this day is just too special to be true as they have been waiting for this day since the childhood and today they are going to actually live the dream that they had since class VI that one day we will be going to a place known as "college" and will become free as a bird soaring high in the sky.

Was that too dramatic? The crux is that every school student has a particular image of the institution "college" and the famous thing "the college life" majorly backed by cinema.

And so, I too was quite excited about the very first day at "my" college: A dream one!

Though I had already visited the college and had explored a bit about it at the time of admissions and on the day of "orientation" but according to me "The first day was going to be different and the best amongst all".

So, I left for the place well dressed, carrying all the "college essentials" (that every senior would suggest to their juniors) in the delusion that I was going to use all the stuff the same day only. Walking swiftly with a bit of nervousness and shyness I entered the college gate and then I was amazed by the scene. It was like a whole fish market of youngsters who were trying to express themselves and make friends at the first place (literally giving their best).

Like every other ambivert, initially I was hesitating to take help and ask for the way to the ”classrooms" (I was trying to be a sincere one though I was sure that today no classes were supposed to happen and at the most they were going to give us the timetable). There was no information regarding the classes or anything so we waited there in the front area of the college for around 1-2 hours which consisted of some of the popular areas like "foyer”, "front lawns”, "side lawns" and "The big tree".

Then after gathering some courage I finally talked to a person and then we together talked to another one and the process went on... I had no idea about which course these people were enrolled in and even they didn't know I was a "Maths" person. All we were trying to do was to form a compound by joining few molecules and so we went like this and finally formed a group of 5-6 people.

I absolutely had no clue whether I was going to see any of them ever again in my life but at that time I was trying to be as interactive as possible. Somewhere at the back of my mind one thing was going in my mind that these were the people I am going to be friends with for the upcoming three years and this is how college works.

Finally, I got to know that none of those girls was from my course and so as soon as we got the information from the admin to disperse into our respective rooms according to the subjects we had taken, I got detached from the group and went straight to the room I was allotted.

Now comes the best part, I entered the classroom and saw these bunch of people quite different from the people I had met downstairs, these were the Math people! Soon I realized that these are the people I am going to share my college journey with.

Well, this was the day we had The Department Orientation Program in that classroom itself which was almost full with around 80 students present there.

Rest is history! This is how my first day at College went.

All the best for your journey!
