The College Concept and Free Learning
For centuries, humans have been believed in one of two opinions related to education. This essay is centered on those two differing viewpoints. If those staunchly rooted in one camp or the other could agree on a compromise, they could actually come to an accord. I believe that you will understand what I mean by this as you read on.

End of the School Year
Teachers lives turned upside down the day that Covid-19 lockdown hit the country. One day we are in school with our classes and the next day (with a blink of an eye) we are at home trying to figure out Virtual Learning. At the onset, we figured we would be out a week, maybe two. Little did we know that we would be saying goodbye to our students online three months later in June. For some teachers retiring this year it is an even harder task.

I Respect You More Than Before
The Covid-19 shook mankind as never before and each little positive gesture that we could think of double both in our actions and rewards that we would never expect. Humanity is in jeopardy. Likewise, this is the story of a gentleman, a teacher who stood bold and determined in the adversity of the invisible ghost. Frontiers closed, schools are under temporary lock down and the escalation in grocery and vegetable prices shocked both the rich and the poor. For some people, it is nothing less than the survival of the fittest. Which one of it would you have believed; the apocalypse 2012 or the present deadly novel virus? The Other Wes Moore
I came across this book while preparing a thematic unit on survival for my students, and I thought that it seamlessly coincided with the conversation currently happening throughout the country. Survival takes on many different shapes and forms, as my students will learn, but this particular tale of survival shows just how closely we are connected to one another, and--whether you want to call it fate, chance, or even luck--how the smallest slivers of choice and opportunity have to power to drastically alter every aspect of the human condition.

Is there systemic Racism in Education?
Two words. George Floyd. A name of a black life needlessly killed because of the colour of his skin. The world is ablaze with anger and pain at the sheer brutality of his death in the United States of America. Demonstrations are taking place all over the world . This time it is different. This time the blood of this one black man has spoken and is speaking loudly. “I can’t breathe”. His death has brought racism to the forefront of all our minds. For some of us it is a painful reminder of incidents where we have been victims of it. For some of us it will be a wake up call. An uncomfortable and undeniable truth that racism still operates in every aspect of our society. It’s in Finance. Its in Sports. It’s even in Government and finally where it all began , in Education.
