Autism in Education
I didn't really enjoy education until I entered University, I found from the ages of eight to nineteen that people around me were not sincere, and that bothered me. Especially as someone who is upfront with people right from the get-go. I didn't recieve a diagnosis for my autism until I was twenty-eight, therefore I spent a lot of the time feeling like I was Quozzy Modo. Someone who people tolerated, but did not officially see. At the time I was still trying to tolerate myself. I developed depression when I was fifteen, was bullied all the way through primary and secondary school, and the people who I thought were my friends in college had one of their boyfriends text me pretending they were interested in a romantic relationship with me. I was humiliated when one of them told me that they would sit in class laughing at the messages when I wasn't around, and the self-confidence and the trust I had built, after two years of being so-called-friends with these people, dissolved. Like a light switch. Once the course was over I left and went on with my life. I haven't seen them all since.

Rotten Social Background
“Justice is tolerated not as a good, but as the lesser evil, and honoured by reason of the inability of men to do injustice. For no man who is worthy to be called a man would ever submit to such an agreement if he were able to resist; he would be mad if he did. Such is the received account, Socrates, of the nature and origin of justice.” (The Republic, Book II)

Take the Spoils!
It's interesting that so many people are able to spend hours at a time looking at their phone & laptop screens but are now suddenly suffering from "Zoom fatigue"... Don't get me wrong, Zoom fatigue's real. We can appreciate that a number of us find virtual meetings easier than many - some actually lose sleep over them, whilst others thrive. But when we have an issue with business plans, or team strategies, or just about anything else we deem important, we usually dissect the situation until we've found the issue, or cause. In the case of Zoom fatigue, however, we have a myriad of business people voicing their concerns, a reasonably constant flow of articles laying out observations, and an even bigger flow of opinions for/against virtual meetings. It seems we're stuck in a Groundhog Day rut of observing, writing & opinionating without actually doing much about it.

‘Oh, My Poor Lola… - Lolita Revisited’
I have recently come across an article in Russia about the long-suffering book ‘Lolita’ (1955) by the Russian-American novelist, poet, and translator, Vladimir Nabokov (1899–1977). The long-suffering epithet assigned to the book is not mine though. It is Vladimir Nabokov himself who said so, as he was witnessing criticism of his book. The book was published in 1955 by Paris based Olympia Press, specialising in erotic and avant-gard literature. The fact that did very little good to the book, apart, of course, from making it popular.
