An Unexpected Encounter with the Great Blue Heron
I first spotted the bird from a distance of roughly 10 meters as I floated in the water. The water was calm, but a slight current on the surface drifted my watercraft closer to the bank. It was not strong enough to have any real sway, so I stopped paddling and paused to watch the bird. You could still hear their faint voices and laughter as they horsed around and took turns jumping off the dock. From where I had now drifted, the surface of the water had carried their voices over...

Grades are important but not everything!
It wouldn’t be wrong to say that most of the parents are not happy with the grades their children bring at the end of the year. What is more, grades are important but not everything. Some go to the extent of perfectionism and do not allow their child to even blink an eye or take a second off the book to take some rest. This is because they want no less than 100 percent. Were there more than 100 percent, they would go for it. Why do they do this after all? Parents feel that their children need to work hard enough to score good grades because good grades will guarantee them a fantastic future for sure and without which they will most probably be doomed. However, this hypothesis needs to be retested, and here is why.

The do's and don'ts against phone scams
In 2019, Americans lost more than 10.5 BILLION dollars to phone scams from con artists who disguise themselves as government officials or representatives of banks and other reputable companies in order to swindle their victims out of money. One such scam that my household fell prey to is the IRS imposter scam - a scheme where callers pose as law enforcement officers and claim they are investigating potential tax evasion by our family because we didn't report income on our W-2 (reportedly). The operators will then request sensitive information like Social Security numbers before attempting an "arrest" with fake police sirens blaring over the line for added effect!
