Remote Patient Monitoring can Address Major Inequities in Senior Care
Remote patient monitoring (RPM) is the use of digital and telecommunication technology for monitoring patients outside medical settings. In other words, providers monitor patient vitals when the patients are not in a clinic or a hospital. The idea might seem novel, but the concept has been around for well over a decade. New Book Reveals Effects of Complex Time
Cook, as an entrepreneur's daughter, has witnessed these effects firsthand, and she skillfully and honestly shares how her father's entrepreneurial drive affected her family in different ways, from her mother, who had almost no say in the family-owned businesses except when it was convenient to list properties in her name, to her older brothers who ended up taking prominent roles as successors to their father, and to Cook herself, who was marginalized and nearly edged out by her brothers once her father was no longer able to run the business, despite his intention for all three of his children to have equal roles in the businesses' operations. Add to this that her father had international businesses, one in Canada and one in the United States-in short, one for each of Cook's brothers and none for Cook, and you have a true recipe for family dynamics reminiscent of the Ewing family of Dallas fame.

I’m certain, because every day since then I’ve been asking, “What the fuck happened?”

Humanity’s Education
Nearly insurmountable threats, problems, and difficulties are being faced by humanity. The most challenging long-term issues that urgently require solutions are resource depletion, global contamination of the whole biosphere, and climate change. These issues are caused by our enormous and uncontrolled expanding human population. The current influenza pandemic, however, and other unanticipated but unavoidable health crises like hunger, poverty, and a lack of a universal public health infrastructure in the absence of stable country governments are frequent occurrences in our current world, and they will become more troublesome as our populations increase in a world with diminishing resources.
