Book Review - Real Philosophy for Real People: Tools for Truthful Living
The younger generation is not composed of fools. The majority of the time, it is given porridge instead of philosophical meat to digest, but that does not mean we are cultural idiots or people easily satisfied. All meaning, as someone with a background in intelligence and war studies, not to mention the philosophy of education, as well as being a fledgling author myself, well-written books trying to struggle with real intellectual content are appreciated, although increasingly difficult to find. So said, the majority of authors seem perfectly willing to speak down to the next generation, even though this is clearly not the intention of Fr. Robert McTeigue, S.J., in his well-researched and thought-provoking book, Real Philosophy for Real People: Tools for Truthful Living. A weighty volume clearly blazing a trail beyond McTeigue's initial collection of homilies and essays, I Have Someone to Tell You: A Jesuit Heralds the Gospel.

College Students’ Attitudes and Perceptions Towards Smoking
Abstract The purpose of this study was to examine the differences in participant’s attitudes towards smokers of different genders as well as the use of different cigarette types (traditional and electronic). We used a paper survey with a short, twelve item attitudes scale, The Santa Clara Religiosity Measure (Plante & Boccaccini, 1997), and the Duke University Religion Index (Koenig & Bussing, 2010), as well as standard demographic questions. The participant pool consisted of students in an introductory psychology class at a small southeastern college aged 18 years old or older (N=126). No special requirements were needed to complete the survey. We hypothesized that participants would show more negative attitudes towards female smokers and towards traditional tobacco cigarettes. However, no support was found for either hypothesis. There were two significant interactions discovered with regards to religiosity and perceptions of smokers. Participants with higher religiosity scores viewed electronic cigarette smokers more negatively than traditional cigarette smokers. Future directions for this study should include larger, more diverse participant pools, more accurate measures of attitudes and religiosity, as well as more locations than just a southeastern college.

Summer Reading for 2022
This is not a complete list of all the books I am still reading as the season ends, but I thought that it would be interesting to look back at certain titles that I am glad to have picked up and enjoyed. They do not cover only one particular genre or style (my reading habits have always been very open and liberal; only science fiction and westerns have never really haunted my lists), but I did decide not to include graphic novels or comic books (I am still a fan, but I want to focus of novels and books that may not have the appeal of Marvel, Image or other imprints).

Deception and Delusion...
This Trend Is Disturbing There is a disturbing trend that is taking place amongst many men and women. As a Relationship Coach, I must discuss this issue because I always encourage clients and people, in general, to lead with their hearts and not with their heads in intimate matters. Let me be clear! It’s intimate for the women, but not for the men.

What I've Learned From 1 Year Of Teaching Abroad
I've been a teacher for a little over a year now. My students are all native Spanish speakers, and I'm trying to teach them to write in a way that they can express themselves. I guess one thought that's crossed my mind is that by me writing in a public space, my students would have no excuse for not wanting to write in a private one. I always tell them that they can write whatever they want, even if they go off-topic. The most important thing is that they write in their own way. No copying.
