As promised from the past article about preparing for IGCSE (O Level) examination.
Now its time for a short article on what to do and what not to do.
Preparing for IGCSE examination is your high school finale and entering the college life. Staying focused will aid you in achieving goals without regrets.
Here are the things you should do for the IGCSE prep:
- Keep learning and challenging yourself with question papers
- Take tips and tricks from A+ students who are above your batch or at your batch
- Practice subjects together with your batchmates
- Have more help from teachers, don't be shy
- Take a day for rest once a week
- Use 30 minutes break to unwind. It also doesn't mean playing video games or watching movies/series, those are distraction
- Spend time with family
- Share your knowledge with relevant people who are gonna study IGCSE soon or already studying
- Eat well enough to avoid upsetting your health
- Sleep well; avoid late night sleep
- Dedicate study for the day and night for sleep
- Have a clear understanding of each subject
- Create a study plan and follow it strictly
- Follow more advice from the A's students who graduated from the IGCSE
- Always practice on past papers older up to 5 years from now
- Follow with the Youtube question paper, solving patiently
- Establish objectives with checkboxes in the study plan
- Tick the checkboxes each time you complete a part of it
- Drink water more often
- If your family member say you are not studying, means you are studying less. Study two times more
Hopefully, you can remember those Do's. If you forget, you have it all here to visit again.
Now the Don'ts:
- Rush out of chapters on each subject. I understand you want to prepare fast but believe me, you will miss out some knowledges
- Feeling down. It will not help but make you feel worse
- Procrastinate on the progress. Keep it consistent and make it a habit
- Stay up late to study; bad for your health
- Ignoring past papers that are not older than a decade
- Watching videos or shorts from social media during the study time. Even for a minute of rest (you never know how the time will go away)
- Overlook simple subjects. Never underestimate any subjects
- Memorise. It will not only waste your time but energy too. You may forget some parts of it and be unable to answer the technical questions that come into the exam. Making it hard for you to answer
- Save all the study at night before the exam; it will cause you to panic and lose your confidence. Prepare for it at least 2 months prior the exam
- Procrastinate. You may fall back
- Travel for refreshment. Save it for the vacation after the exam
- Listen to music while studying. It really distracts your inner learning spirit
So seems like Don'ts are filled up. Its your call to follow and remember all of those by heart if you want to have a greater chance of passing IGCSE O Level. This process is also the same for AS (A Level 1st year) and IAL (A Level).
Its now your time to shine. If you have some Dos and Don'ts on your own. Feel free to express your comments below, I am all ears for you.
And also, if you graduate, I would love to know your experience in the comment section. I am eager to know your feelings and experience.
Good luck for your exam.
Cheers!
Stay Chill!
