How to give followers a reason to convert

Now that you know how to use your IG Insight data to identify your followers, you can use that data to give those followers a reason to convert. In the below sections, we’ll show you how to create an Instagram campaign for these insights, and discuss ways you can make it engaging for your followers.

How to figure out what audience wants

In order to get the most out of Instagram, you have to focus on your followers. They are the ones who have chosen to subscribe and receive your content, so it’s important that you know what they want from you.

To figure out what your audience wants, you need to be listening for feedback. By paying attention to comments on posts or stories and keeping tabs on whether an audience is growing or shrinking, you can make changes accordingly.

The best way to figure out what your audience wants is by asking directly—but don’t ask them in a long-winded post or story that goes off on several tangents; keep it short and simple. You want them engaged and excited about responding!

How to best connect your content and message to your audience's intent

We're not saying that you should ignore the hundreds of other social media platforms out there. What we are saying is you should make IG Insight your priority. Your company—or any brand for that matter—should never be more active on just one platform. The reason is simple: research shows that people spend 86% of their online time on just four platforms: Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and Instagram. So if your company doesn't have an Instagram or Twitter account and isn't getting much engagement on these channels, you may not know what you're missing. And it's just as important to know who your audience is as it is to know how they use the Internet. The things they love are the same things you do, but perhaps in a slightly different way or a more specific way. So by focusing on IG Insight only, you can start to see what works specifically for them

How to best use the app features to learn what is working

It's time to move on from the data and start using it to improve your content. Take the time to analyze what is working. Once you've identified areas for improvement, you can put a plan in place and get started on improving your content, attracting more viewers, and ultimately bringing you more success.

You don't just have to take my word for it: The advice above has been tested and tried by millions of people over many years. By following this advice, I've managed to grow my Instagram account into a successful business. I also know for a fact that other Instagram users are doing exactly this right now, so there's no reason why you can't do it too!

How does one measure success on this app?

With so much emphasis on follower count, it's easy to forget that the most effective measure of success is engagement. Engagement is more important than followers because it's a more effective way to build your brand and grow your audience.

There are several ways to measure engagement. One great metric to track is the growth rate of your followers. If you have a decent number of followers, but their growth rate is low, this may be an indicator that you need to reevaluate some of your posting strategies or content types. Tracking how many new followers you're gaining every week or month can also help you see how successful individual posts are at attracting new fans.

Another good practice is keeping an eye on raw metrics like likes and comments per post. The number of likes and comments doesn't mean as much as the quality of those interactions—but there are other factors at play here: higher engagement often translates into higher reach, which means more people seeing your posts in their feed and thus more potential fans for your brand down the line.

You need insight for insight.

The first step to using Insight is to actually use it. I know, astonishing, right? This means you'll have to read the instructions and find your way there on Instagram, but that shouldn't be too difficult:

  • Click the menu icon on the top-right of your profile.
  • Tap "Settings," then "Account."
  • Click "Switch to Business Profile" when prompted, then follow the steps to connect your Facebook Page and Instagram account (if you haven't already.)

Once you've turned your profile into a business account, click the graph icon at the top of your profile page in order to access Insights.
