Waking up from self-hypnosis

By Mal MohanlalPublished 5 months ago 6 min read

Do you know we live in a hypnotic world and that our mind's thinking process is hypnotic? When we think, we are hypnotizing ourselves. We use words to think, but we are often unaware of how those words hypnotize us. We live in a hypnotic world of words, where most of us are unaware that we are already hypnotized. We live in a world of delusions.

If we do not wake up from our self-hypnosis, our destiny is already written. We will chase our shadow or tail forever until time grinds us to dust, living and dying in a world of delusions.

The medical profession claims to practice evidence-based medicine, but in reality, it does not understand hypnosis. Doctors have become bureaucratic thinkers and do not understand how hypnosis works. Their knowledge of hypnosis is similar to that of the general population, which is primarily derived from watching stage hypnosis.

I have stated my observations in my comments in the medical forum on the Internet that the ego in our mind is a product of self-hypnosis. It cannot appear in our conscious mind without using words (thinking). It is because the ego wants to be in constant control that thinking becomes an obsession for most people. That is why people often feel they cannot stop thinking. No psychiatrist or psychologist has yet bothered to verify or disprove these observations that our thinking process is hypnotic and that the ego in our mind is a deluded entity.

Mental illness is a disorder of perception. It is the degree that determines the level at which it becomes a clinical disorder of behaviour and action. It is increasing in every society worldwide today. How can we understand mental illness unless we look at the ego and study how it operates in the mind? However, it seems that no one wants to examine the ego. It is a deluded entity, unaware that when we think we are being hypnotized. No one wants to admit they are deluded and conditioned entities. My observations lead me to conclude that mental illness is the result of negative self-hypnosis.

So, how to understand hypnosis? To understand hypnosis, we must grasp Pavlov's concept of the conditioned reflex. We are all conditioned beings. As we age, our environment inevitably conditions our bodies and minds. We have a mind that we divide into the conscious and the subconscious.

While the conditioned ego is always striving to maintain control in our conscious mind, it is how it influences the subconscious mind that we should be studying. The ego creates words to communicate and understand our feelings and emotions. We use words to think and express our feelings. Without words, we cannot think. But these words have a direct effect on our subconscious mind. Our subconscious mind is full of conditioned reflexes. When we use negative words, it reflexively produces negative chemicals in our brain—using positive words results in the production of positive chemicals. Hence, when we think, we are using words to play a tune with our subconscious mind, making ourselves happy or sad, depending on how we use words. That is how we are hypnotize ourselves. We are using words like the piano keys in a piano to play a happy or sad tune.

As we are creatures of habit, thinking becomes a habit. The way we use words can affect us in either a positive or negative way.

Let me provide you with a few examples. If a person keeps saying, "I can't help myself," over time, that person will soon start feeling helpless.

If a person keeps saying, "It is too hard, I can't do it", one is defeated even before one starts.

If a person is confronted with a difficult job, and one keeps saying, "I can do it. If he can do it, I can do it better." One will find that the job becomes easier as one progresses.

As one can see, how we use words can have a negative or positive hypnotic effect on us.

Currently, most people are unaware of how their thought process influences their emotional state. By acquiring self-knowledge and understanding how their thinking process works, they can manipulate their subconscious mind in the direction they want to go.

Hypnosis is all about how we manipulate our subconscious mind. If you are feeling negative, it means you are manipulating it negatively, and if you are feeling positive, it means you are stimulating it positively. The secret is to become aware of the words you are using. Replace negative words with positive words in your thinking. The subconscious mind is a neutral field of energy. It is the words, not their meaning, that have a direct effect.

So if you are feeling unwell, and say the obvious, "I feel terrible. I feel sick.", you will no doubt feel very ill. But if you say the opposite and say, "I am getting better. I feel fine", and keep repeating it, you will feel a lot better. This is because the subconscious mind lacks the discriminating power of the conscious mind. It is how you can manipulate it consciously. It does not mean you stop using common sense and do not see a doctor. The world is manipulating you. It is time you learnt to do it yourself.

Hence, you must realize that we are manipulating our subconscious mind all the time and being hypnotized. When we are reading a book and following a story, we are hypnotizing ourselves. When we are watching TV, Movies, Sports, or listening to the radio, etc., we are doing the same thing. We live hypnotic lives, and most people are not aware of it.

The imaginative power of words helps us create a fantasy world in which we live, making us travel in time. When one uses words like "Reincarnation" or "Resurrection", it instantly creates a world beyond the present. But does it exist? Does Santa Claus exist? Most of us live in a fantasy world without being aware of it.

So, how does one wake up to reality? The picture of the present that you see before you is a world without words and eternal. It is a timeless dimension that exists on its own while we live in a time dimension of our creation. The only thing that separates the two is our perception. Hence, the moment we use words (thinking), it instantly takes us away from this timeless reality, creating an escapist dreamworld for us.

Since thinking (words) takes one away from reality, to experience the timeless, one has to stop thinking. But how do we stop thinking? When you stop thinking, you do not disappear from the mind. Become aware of the present moment, do not say a single word and become an observer. This is where meditation comes in. However, the meditation techniques the ego has devised over centuries of civilization are mostly self-hypnosis. Hence, people are unaware that they are still hypnotiizing themselves when they are meditating because they are meditating the wrong way. There is only one right way of meditating: in the observer and the observed mode.

The golden rule to remember when meditating is to make sure you are aware of what is happening inside and outside you in the present. When you are aware of the present moment, it dehypnotizes you. In this mode, you become an observer in your mind and thus can observe your thoughts and feelings. If you find yourself using negative words, you can easily replace them with positive. You can do the same thing with emotions. It is how one gains one's understanding of their thinking process and acquires self-knowledge.

Also, please remember that whenever you are using words in your mind, you are hypnotizing yourself. It takes you away from reality. The thinker and the thought (the thinker thinking) mode is hypnotic. Whatever you create in this mode leads to a delusion.

I trust that what I have written in this article will help you acquire self-knowledge and become the master of your destiny. Please also read my other online articles to enlighten yourself.

At present, we automatically think in the thinker and the thought (the thinker thinking) mode, which is the hypnotic mode. As one becomes enlightened, the inbuilt intelligence in our mind will reset it in the observer and the observed (the observer observing) mode spontaneously, where life becomes eternal meditation.
