Career Options After Graduation in ECE Field
Here are some options!

There are certain options for a career but the best out of them is for you to decide. It depends on your area of interest and capability which only you can assess.
Electronics and communication engineering is a huge sector. There are many career opportunities in this ECE Field. At present, if you do an electronics and communication engineering course at a good college, then you can easily get a job.
Also, there are many courses available after ECE completion. After doing Electronics and Communication Engineering course, students can find employment in many other manufacturing and service sector organizations like Embedded System, Power Electronics, Signal Processing, Broadcasting, Consulting, Data Communication, Entertainment, Research and Development, System Support, etc.
So basically, there are several areas where you can have a good career.
1. VLSI - here you mainly deal with CREATION of integrated circuits(IC's) inside this you have many other fields like front-end design, back-end design, Verification, Testing, etc
2. Power Electronics - In this field you have to design circuits for very high currents, voltages, and also optimize power consumption.
3. Telecommunications - In the telecommunication field some R&D teams and come up with next-generation Telecommunication standards like WLAN, beyond 4G, 5G, etc or move into service providers companies like Airtel, BSNL. In this field, most of the work is related to maintenance and fieldwork.
4. Communication - In this communication field you work in the Networking domain of companies like Cisco, Juniper Networks, etc. Work is mainly routing data from one point to another, providing security, replenishing data loss. So, work is on the type of data encoding, type of modulation used.
5. Embedded Systems - In this Embedded Systems field you have already provided IC's, other devices and to integrate them, program them to suit a required application i.e. the chips made by VLSI engineers for the application. It has an Embedded Software domain which deals with controlling the hardware using C programming. It involves writing Firmware, device drivers, application and User Interface, embedded hardware engineers. So choose necessary hardware, integrate them, make them work in sync.

6. Signal Processing - In this field you have to deal with analog and digital signals. Here, you will need to apply transforms, do some analysis on signals as per the requirement. It has sub-fields like Image Processing and Video processing (Multimedia). In Image processing- For the software side, you can manipulate the images like remove noise, add some filters. For the hardware side, you can work on ISP (Image Signal Processor) that is used in all smartphones, Image sensors (like CMOS, CCD, etc..). In Video processing - for the software side, you have video compression, video encoding, video decoding using different standards. For the hardware side, you can design Video processing Hardware.

Higher Education Opportunities for Electronics and Communication Students
There is a lot of scope for students doing master's degrees in the field of electronics and communication. So, having a master's will certainly improve your career prospects and help you get hired by top MNC's. Governments across the globe are spending millions of dollars in this field for R&D. So, the scope for doing a Ph.D. in these fields is a risk worth taking.
There might be many other career areas possible which I have not listed but I have mentioned as many as I can.
Hope it helps.
