Be kind to your "rivals"
Japan's North Sea Island produces precious eels, and fishermen in the seaside fishing villages make their living by catching eels. The life of the eel is very fragile, as soon as they leave the deep sea area, it will not take half a day to all die. Strangely enough, there is an old fisherman who goes to the sea every day to catch eels, and when he returns, his eels are always alive and well, while others, no matter how they dispose of the eels they catch, are all dead when they return to port. Since the price of fresh eels is more than double the price of dead eels, so, within a few years, the old fisherman's family became known far and wide as wealthy. When the old fisherman was dying, he passed on the secret to his son.
It turns out that the old fisherman's secret to ensuring that the eels do not die is to put a few dogfish in the whole bin of eels. Eels and dogfish are not only not the same kind, but also "deadly rivals". A few weak dog fish encounter the opponent of the warehouse, to survive, they will be in the pile of eels scurrying around, so that the whole warehouse of dead eels to save their life.
Insight: The relationship between the dogfish and the eel is "deadly", which makes the eel survive in the bin; on the contrary, without the eel, the dogfish in the bin is also deadly.
The fisherman's oath
In ancient times, there was a fisherman who was a good fisherman at sea. He had a habit of making a vow every time he fished. One spring, heard that the market price of blackfish is the highest, so he made a vow, this time out to catch only cuttlefish, and make a good profit it. But all he encountered on this fishing trip were crabs, and he returned empty-handed, much to his chagrin. Only when he went ashore did he learn that the price of crabs in the market was more expensive than cuttlefish. He regretted it so much that he vowed to fish for crabs the next time he went to sea.
The second time he went to sea, he focused on crabs, but this time all he encountered were cuttlefish, so needless to say he returned empty-handed again. He swore with remorse that the next time he went out to sea, no matter whether he encountered crabs or cuttlefish all fight.
The third time he went to sea, the fisherman kept his vow strictly, unfortunately, he did not encounter a crab and cuttlefish, but only saw some horse mackerel. So, the fisherman returned empty-handed once again ......
The fisherman did not make it to the sea for the fourth time, and he died of hunger and cold.
Insight: When establishing one's life goals and ideals, one must not only conform to one's reality but also the reality of social needs. The reality of social needs is always changing and developing, so we should adjust our ideals according to the changing and developing social reality so that the ideals can become reality. Otherwise, even if our conditions are good, the ideal can only be an empty dream, a fantasy.
The experiment with bees and flies
A scientist has done such an experiment: put a few beers in a bottle with an open mouth, put the bottle on its side, the bottom of the bottle to the light, and the bees will fly to the bottom of the bottle one at a time, attempting to fly into the light source. They will never go the other way and try the other direction. Being trapped in a bottle is a completely new situation for them, one that their physiology has never anticipated, so they are unable to adapt to the changing environment.
The scientist did another experiment, this time with several flies in a bottle with the bottom of the bottle facing the light, and within minutes, several flies were flying out. They tried many things - up, down, face light, backlight. They often hit the glass head-on, but eventually, they will wing to the neck of the bottle and fly out of the bottle. Scientists then explain this phenomenon by saying, "It is much more intelligent to rampage than to sit and wait for death."
Insight: On the road of life, many people are afraid of failure and do not dare to "act rashly". This fear of psychology, so that many people lost a great opportunity to achieve the future. In fact, in the process of achieving the value of life, life's aspirations, are often accompanied by setbacks, pain, and failure. The so-called "wishful thinking", "smooth sailing", is only a good wish of people. This requires us to have the indomitable quality of will or called "repeated defeat" courage.
