Financial Literacy Definition: Possessing the skills and knowledge on financial matters to confidently take effective action that best fulfills an individual's personal, family, and global and community goals.

I personally enjoy being a certified financial education instructor because I like to help others take action towards learning about financial literacy so they can finally take control of their lives and be able to have more peace of mind.

The National Financial Educator's Council has recently launched a campaign to gather signatures from anyone interested in improving their children's future by requiring public schools to teach personal finance classes from elementary through high school. Also by seeking funds from the government to help accomplish these goals by providing qualified and professional financial education instructors to teach these classes to better serve the students they teach. 4 goals of the NFEC when teaching financial literacy are to get participants to see results by:

1) Motivating

2) Engaging

3) Educating

4) Moving them to take action

By keeping these goals in mind, certified financial education instructors through the NFEC are able to deliver the appropriate information students need to grow in developing their financial knowledge and skills. The goal of this petition is to receive 25,000 signatures on a federal and state level, to 200,000 signatures to get a formal response from the white house. Let's show the government that we do care about having personal finance skills!

By becoming financially literate, when students graduate high school they will be better equipped to handle making good financial decisions and will feel more confident when applying themselves to seek their basic needs to thrive and survive. I personally think these subjects in personal finance would greatly benefit the student as a start, and give them a solid foundation into their future.

3) Ways to produce several streams of income

4) Importance of maintaining a good credit score

5) Financial literacy terms and definitions

6) How to write a resume

7) How to setup a bank account

8) How to purchase a vehicle- bank account, income, credit score

9) How to fill out a basic tax form 1040 and know how and when to apply for unemployment benefits if ever needed

10) How to apply for an apartment- important documents to always keep track of (state ID, social security card, birth certificate, pay stubs, tax documents)

- Free time to spend your days doing what you enjoy

- Ability to stay focused on your job and mission

- Ability to make a larger positive impact on the world

- Provides the ability to be able to help loved ones in need
