The sacraments aid in sanctification and the edification of the body of Christ. They give us a way to relate to God during the ups and downs of life and enable us to praise and honor him. They support, bolster, and enable us to live out our religion. The Seven Sacrament of Catholic Church are:

1. Baptism the sacrament of initiation into the church, where a person is cleansed of original sin and becomes a member of the Christian Community.

2. Confirmation the sacrament in which the Holy Spirit is given to the baptized person, strengthening them in their faith and empowering them o live as a witness of Christ

3. Eucharist- the sacrament in which the bred and wine are transformed into the body and blood of Christ, which Catholics believe is the real presence of Christ.

4. Reconciliation (also called Confession or Penance)- the sacrament in which a person confess their sin to a priest and receives absolution, or forgiveness, from God

5. Anointing of the Sick (also called Last rites or Extreme Unction)- the sacrament in which a person who is seriously ill or dying is anointed with oil and receives the grace and strength of Christ

6. Holy Orders the sacrament in which a man is ordained as a deacon, priest, or bishop and receives the authority to serve the Church and administer the sacrament

7. Matrimony the sacrament in which a man and a woman enter into a lifelong covenant of love and faithfulness, with the grace of Christ and the support of the church
