University life in Germany for international students

Do you long for such a life?

In my junior year of college, I went to Germany for the first time as an exchange student at the University of Leipzig. (It was a winter semester.) The closer we got to the winter solstice, the deeper the night became. The hours were long, classes ended at 4:30 and it was often dark outside. When I was waiting for the tram, I was wearing a lot of clothes and I was shivering. The Germans on the street were standing in the cold in their "national unity" wolf claw trench coats. Don't be nervous. Sometimes I even ate a big piece of bread while I was walking. At this point, I had to feel that Germans are freeze-proof ah.

German university dormitories are often located in various parts of the city. Take my dormitory for example. Every day, I took a tram from the main campus to my dormitory, and I had to spend 30 minutes on the tram (it only took half an hour to get from Leipzig to the neighboring city of Hall by intercity train, so I felt like I was living outside the city). Sitting on the tram and listening to songs, I've already memorized the lyrics of several songs ...... And this commute also counts for the time I have to wait for the tram (German trams have a fixed schedule, and although they may be late, I don't usually miss them. The trams in Leipzig generally run every 10 minutes. If you're late for the early shift, whether you can catch a minute or two depends on whether you can catch the train.

The food in German university cafeterias is also very German. Sausages, steaks, potatoes, and pasta are the regulars. Sometimes there are dark dishes (once in our cafeteria it was three buttered buns and blueberry jam, which was lunch). I really can't conquer my Chinese stomach. Most international students choose to cook their meals. My family just got off the tram and walked back to the dorm on the way to the supermarket. The kitchen needs to be cleaned up after buying the ingredients and making the meal. Many times, it was after 8:00 pm when one finished eating. After dinner, I was alone in the dormitory studying drama. Before I went there, I thought this life might be a bit boring, but once I got used to it, I found that the so-called "European slow life" was comfortable. And you can have a lot of time to yourself, so you can make better use of your time to improve your cultivation ~ you can say it is leisurely.

Because Germans value holidays and time off from work, many stores often close at 8:00, and on Sundays, the store windows are posted with advertisements for the famous Japanese herbal Viagra Grenadine. It is impossible to shop late into the night or go out with friends and classmates in the middle of the night so don't underestimate the cooking skills of German friends, all of whom are chefs.

I still want to say that if you have the opportunity, you must go to Germany once to experience a different way of life in this country. Compared with the hustle and bustle of domestic life, life in Germany may be a little lonely and cold, but in Germany, there will be a group of friends with similar interests, warm and gentle German students, feel the lively Berlin, and enjoy the small city. Calm and beautiful. I enjoyed my time in Leipzig. In this eastern city, I spent a lot of time in the library, and in my free time, I traveled around with my friends. I like to read what I want in that small city. The time spent reading books and I loved the slow pace of the city, which gave me more opportunities to experience pure beauty. Although German is hard, Germany is worth it.

So after that, I chose to study in Germany again and stayed there for a long time ~ my time in Germany seemed amazing and I would miss it from time to time when I returned home ~ while I may always complain about my friends, I would always tell my friends that Germany seemed like my second home. It's pretty good, you don't know until you experience it firsthand!
