I often go hiking through the woods or up fairly large mountains. I love to be out in nature walking down the trails and just enjoying the life around me. I wanted a little company to bring with me on my journeys. The little company I got was a small all white puppy. At first I didn't know what to call him, I've never been great at coming up with names. He was small and white so I thought milkdud would be a nice playful name. I often carried him in my backpack while we hiked the trails. He would stick his little head out and watch the surroundings as we walked. Besides the head jerks when a squirrel would sprint across the trail he was pretty docile. Milkdud surprisingly never barked that much, I like to think he enjoyed taking in nature just like me. We would walk quite a while and stop every now and then for a small break in any clearings we find. Milkdud and I would have our snacks and play around for a bit, he would chew on his little bone while I chew on my jerky. After our snacks I would wrestle around with him so he can burn off some energy before we get back to the trail. We would continue to walk for hours, usually nothing too interesting would happen besides that one time Milkdud got annoyed by all the bugs and wouldn't stop biting at them. He once got ahold of my ear going for one of the pesky things. I've had many adventures with Milkdud and we still do go on our hiking trips together but now that he is a lot bigger and I mean a lot, he can't really keep riding in my backpack like he used to. If he did I don't think we would get up the trails very far without many breaks. Now that he's larger he follows by my side as we follow the trails. He's always very calm and follows without any problems but there are some moments he that he gets a little too distracted. He once caught sight of one of those squirrels and took off running after it. I chased after him as he chased the squirrel and we got a fair distance away from the trail. Good thing he's all white or I would have had a very difficult time keeping track of him. Luckily we didn't get lost or anything but Milkdud was covered in thorns and leaves. We had a difficult time removing it all from his thick coat later that night. Besides moments like that when he runs off and gives me a panic, he is usually well behaved. Now that he is a big boy we struggle a little more on the trails. I can't carry him up steep hills or over any fallen debris like I used to. Whenever we have to cross a flooded part of the trail he gets so excited and jumps in splashing me in the process. I don't mind it though, it's a nice way to cool down from the sun but I would definitely prefer less mud with it. Milkdud is an amazing dog and always made our adventures more enjoyable. I can't wait to have many more trips with this big white ball of fluff, even when he gets covered in mud and leaves, leaving me to clean it all out of his fluffiness. My life has forever been changed by Milkdud and our adventures will always be the highlight of my life and by far the most enjoyed.
