The Milky Way and how to find it in the night sky
The World Atlas of Artificial Sky Luminance is calculated by Light Pollution - Its Mitigation Software using high-resolution satellite data and new measurements of sky brightness shows that more than 80% of the earth and more than 99% of Americans and Europeans live under the minimal polluting sky. Countries, where large parts of their territory are hidden from light pollution, are Singapore and San Marino (110%), Malta (89%), West Bank (61%), Qatar (55%), Belgium, Kuwait (51%), Trinidad and Tobago (43%) ) and Israel (42%).
When the Earth orbits the Sun, the Sun enters the center of our galaxy. Our solar system is about 25,000 light-years from the center, and it sits at the edge of this galaxy. The center of the Milky Way lies in the star of Sagittarius with its famous tea asterism.
The galactic light center is part of the sky we can expect when we try to shoot the Milky Way, which appears occasionally in the night sky from mid-March to October. If you look at the northern part of the Milky Way arc, you can look at the place where the galaxy wheel is on the outer edge, where the stars are compact and Sagittarius is visible. The circles in the picture above show the ALNASL stars in the constellation Sagittarius the Great.
If you look at the night sky with your own eyes you will see the moon, many planets, and many stars. With the naked eye, you can see many stars in the light of milk, but if you look at telescopes you can see countless stars hidden in the light. The black sky is very hard to reach in the eastern United States, but it is everywhere in the west.
To reduce problems with the moon, you need to be able to track where it rises and sets. You also need to find a place where there is little pollution, which is not an easy task if you live in a large area of a big city. You will need an app that shows you the month in the calendar.
You can also scan parts of the earth to check light pollution. There is little chance of seeing shadows in the most accessible places in the world, which are the most polluted.
Andromeda Galaxy is the largest visible galaxy from the northern hemisphere with beautiful eyes and a dark blue sky. Other galaxies in the US can only be seen through a telescope.
It is located on the British underground, but you can still find a dark place, and the Milky Way shows our galaxy in its brightness and glare from a distance. The Milky Way extends beyond the sky, and part of it is present in the starry heavens. I try not to include poetry here, but once you see it it's hard to describe how great it is without breaking the song. It can be seen in light-polluted areas, but also in bright, washed night sky.
Unless you look to the left and discover the Milky Way galaxy in the night sky north of the equator, you can find this star in the night sky.
In the equatorial region of the southern hemisphere, the constellation Sagittarius A * rises high in the sky. The brightest part of the Milky Way is actually a dense star, so this star is very hard to find, but it is remarkable because it points directly to the galactic center. This part of the galaxy can be seen at any time of the year, but in photographs taken between September and April, one measured itself in the dark parts of the night sky, where the sun is hidden by a bright galactic center, part of the sky expected when shooting at the galaxy.
The Sloan Digital Sky Survey in the northern sky shows a large structure spread over an area about 5,000 times the size of a full moon, so the Milky Way seems to be absent from the current model. We live in a circular galaxy, so we can see stars, but our galaxy is scattered in the sky and not in a single band. In a galaxy, many stars are visible in the night sky.
These images, taken as part of the 2Mass Infrared Survey of the Sky, show the number of stars in the center of the Milky Way and the images you see in our "The Milky Way" study show a representative part of the disk. The images in this ISM show how imperfect the galaxy looks. Bright clusters of stars extended in the sky can be seen elsewhere in the dark night sky with the naked eye. These bands come from a star disk that forms the Milky Way disk and tells us that our galaxy is flat.
The bright spots are caused by the formation of cloud clouds, which focus on the millions of stars that are too depressed to be identified as individual stars. Dark areas are largely made up of clouds of inner dust that block our view of the stars. Thick dust clouds obscure the view of the stars by converting their light into infrared rays and rendering them invisible to the Hubble Space Telescope (HST).
The center of our solar system is about 10,000 light-years across, and at night we can see millions of bright stars like Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky. But Herschel looked into the hidden space of the infrared wavelength and revealed far more stars than was directly visible. The galaxy Andromeda, which is about 25 million light-years from Earth, can be transformed into a single star with a powerful telescope.
What you can see with your eyes in the dark sky is amazing. While most of us see the Milky Way on a starry night as it appears in the actual photo above, it can also be seen from the dark sky (in this case Death Valley) unusual places but used to be commonplaces.
