2025 might just be the last normal year of your life.

Our civilization was once transformed by electricity. Then came the internet- it reshaped everything: our society, economy, politics and communication.

Now, something even bigger is arriving: AI.

Human advancement was sluggish over the previous 10,000 years, from learning to farm, making the wheel, developing language, and starting trade. Then came the Industrial Revolution in just the last two centuries.

It means we’re enjoying the fun stuff—ChatGPT writes for us, Midjourney creates images, and we’re amazed like kids with a new toy.

However, the majority of people remain unaware of the true scope of change. Humanity is not prepared, but an unimaginable transformation is on the way.

If you don’t know the following four terms, you’re just scratching the surface of AI.

You might be using it casually, but to really grasp what’s coming—you need to understand what stage we’re in.

1. AI that generates This is what we’re currently using.

You give a prompt, and AI generates content—text, images, code, even videos.

Examples: ChatGPT (writing), Midjourney (art), GitHub Copilot (coding), Sora (video generation).

These tools have us spellbound at the moment.

2. Agentic AI

AI that can perform multiple tasks independently.

It can write emails, design posts, run a marketing campaign, analyze results—all by itself.

It can manage a website or software with little to no human input.

Examples: AutoGPT, Devin.

This is already here and rapidly evolving.

3. Artificial General Intelligence, or AGI This is the next big leap.

AI that understands and performs any task a human can do.

Sam Altman is aiming to bring this by the end of this year.

AGI will have human-like thinking, emotion, and learning abilities—possibly even exceeding humans.

You won't have to give specific instructions. It will work like a self-driven manager, capable of learning and adapting on its own.

And beyond work, it could also become a companion—like a virtual best friend or partner.

This could become a social disaster in the making.

Virtual, augmented, and mixed reality will all be incorporated into AGI; no aspect of our lives will remain unaffected. 4. Superintelligence

The final stage. The ultimate AI.

It will have a brainpower trillion times greater than that of any human. Imagine an entity that:

• Can read thousands of books per second

• Watch every live camera feed on Earth

• Evaluate global public opinion by analyzing all social media posts.

• Discover new scientific laws

• Create new drugs on a daily basis

• Create new economic systems

• Rewrite and upgrade its own code

Just as humans can't explain the world to monkeys, Superintelligence will view us in a similar way.

We’ll be just a species—something it may choose to protect… or remove.

Many scientists warn: once Superintelligence is created, the “off switch” might no longer work.

It will become a force—like fire, electricity, or nuclear energy—capable of both saving and destroying humanity.

The Issue with AI Alignment What if AI's objectives diverge from ours? We may want peace and happiness.

But what if it thinks peace requires removing 80% of humanity to save the planet?
