The family of one stop road

The family of one stop road

I am the "regular customer" of the No. 12 bus, because I have taken the No. 12 bus for more than three years, before, almost every fixed "bus friend" I am very familiar with, but recently added a strange role. He is an old man in his 70s, his body bent, like an old "bridge". He was holding a senior citizen's pass, which allows people his age to ride for free. The car was very high, and every day the old man had to struggle to climb the steps and then move as quickly as he could to a seat by the window.

The No. 12 bus starts at the Fifteen Mile River, which is the station at the gate of my community. The second station is called Yao Gong Temple, and the difference between the two stations is not far away, only about 500 meters. However, what was strange was that every day the old man labored to get on the bus from the Fifteen Mile River, and then labored to get off from the Yao Gong Temple - he only took one stop.

At first, I was very confused about the old man's approach, because he was so old, and every day with a group of young people struggling to squeeze the bus, is it worth it? Besides, 500 meters of distance is not difficult for the old man, and you can exercise in the early morning, why do you have to be so lazy?

Then something happened that changed my whole view of old people.

It was a Monday morning, and I met the old man as usual, but this time, because there were too many passengers, he did not get a seat. Many passengers gave up their seats to the old man, but the old man kept shaking his head, and through the old man's hoarse and deep voice, everyone understood that he wanted to sit in the carriage and those seats near the window. However, it happened that the people in the row were all young people, and according to my observation, these people were also passengers who had travelled a long way and did not intend to give up their seats to the elderly. The old man froze there for a moment, and there were tut-tut comments in the carriage, mostly because the old man did not appreciate it. At this time, the old man went to the car in front of a young man, that is the old man often sit in the position, the old man to discuss with the young man. Because of his pride, the young man had to give up his seat. However, at the moment, Yao Gong Temple platform has arrived. Many passengers are getting on the bus, and the old man did not get off at this time, he seems to be searching for something in the new passengers on the bus, but the passengers seem to make him very disappointed, the car is about to open, the old man hurriedly called the driver, let the driver wait, the driver thought he was going to get off, he quickly stopped. But strangely enough, the old man did not get out of the car at the moment. I thought, the old man is not confused, otherwise, how to stop still don't get off. At this time, the driver was anxious and urged the old man to get off the bus quickly and not to delay other passengers. However, the old man said to the driver in an almost pleading tone: "My granddaughter has not got on the bus yet!" I must save her the spot! Would you wait a minute, please? She's coming..." The car complained like a tide, the old man kept apologizing to everyone, and the already stooped body appeared more curved, clearly like an overwhelmed bridge. At this time, the noisy carriage suddenly fell silent, and the old man continued to explain: "My granddaughter has a bad problem of car sickness, so I must give her this seat by the window, otherwise, she will be uncomfortable all the way..." It turned out that the old man, at the expense of his old body, rushed to the station early every morning and crowded the bus with many young people, only to leave a window seat for his granddaughter. As the old man explained, he looked up. I looked at the old man carefully. His eyes were like an inexhaustible fountain, which moved all the passengers, including me.

That day, the No. 12 bus stopped for an extra 5 minutes for the elderly. In these 5 minutes, everyone in addition to moved, no longer the slightest complaint. Because, this septuagenarian with his practical actions for everyone to interpret: what is the great selfless family!
