Tall Tail

protect and preserve

By nevis bastinPublished 3 years ago 3 min read

Once upon a time, in a forest far, far away, there lived a curious creature called Tall Tail. Tall Tail was a majestic fox with bright orange fur, piercing green eyes, and a long, bushy tail that seemed to go on forever.

Unlike other animals in the forest, Tall Tail had a unique gift: he could talk. And not only that, he was incredibly intelligent and wise. All the other creatures would often come to Tall Tail for advice and guidance, and he was always happy to help.

One day, while out on a walk, Tall Tail came across a group of young animals gathered around a tree. They were all staring up at a bird's nest, chirping excitedly. Curious, Tall Tail approached them and asked what was going on.

"We want to see the baby birds!" exclaimed a tiny mouse. "But we can't reach them!"

Tall Tail looked up and saw that the nest was high up in the branches, out of reach of the smaller animals. But being a fox, he was an excellent climber. So, without hesitation, he scampered up the trunk of the tree, using his sharp claws to grip the bark.

When he reached the nest, Tall Tail saw that there were three baby birds inside, all chirping and flapping their wings. He carefully plucked them from the nest, making sure not to harm them, and then climbed back down to the ground.

The young animals were overjoyed to see the baby birds up close, and they thanked Tall Tail profusely for his help.

But as they were about to go on their way, Tall Tail noticed something strange. One of the baby birds had a strange marking on its wing, almost like a symbol of some sort. Tall Tail couldn't quite make it out, but he knew it was important.

He decided to take the baby birds back to his den so he could examine the marking more closely. When he arrived home, he laid the birds on his soft fur bed and began to study the marking. After a while, he realized that it was a symbol used by a group of animals who lived in a far-off corner of the forest. They were known as the "Guardians of the Forest."

Tall Tail knew that the Guardians were responsible for keeping the forest safe and healthy. They protected the trees and plants, made sure the animals were well-fed, and kept the rivers and streams clean. But no one had seen or heard from them in years, and many thought they had disappeared.

Tall Tail realized that the baby bird must have been a messenger, sent by the Guardians to deliver an urgent message. But what was the message? And why had they chosen to send it now?

Determined to find out, Tall Tail set out on a journey to the far-off corner of the forest where the Guardians were said to live. He walked for days, encountering all sorts of creatures along the way, but he didn't give up.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, he reached the Guardians' home. It was a beautiful clearing in the midst of the forest, filled with lush plants and sparkling streams. And there, in the center of the clearing, was a massive tree with a door carved into its trunk.

Tall Tail approached the door and knocked. After a few moments, it creaked open, revealing a wise old owl perched on a branch inside.

"Who goes there?" the owl asked, peering down at Tall Tail with its large, yellow eyes.

"I am Tall Tail," the fox replied. "I have come in search of the Guardians."

The owl studied him for a moment, then nodded. "Follow me," he said, and flew deeper into the tree.

Inside, Tall Tail found a group of animals gathered.

The story of Tall Tail reminds us of the importance of listening to our intuition and acting on our curiosity.
