Here in the Adelaide Hills of South Australia, we purchased our property because of the abundance of native wildlife. The previous owners who built the house ensured that life was in perfect balance on the homestead. They grew everything organically and didn’t overdo it in garden maintenance.

10 Reasons You Should Plant Trees near your home today
Right now, the days are getting shorter, and the leaves are almost entirely off the deciduous trees here in Australia. The temperature is dropping and many of the scary animals are going into hibernation too, which makes it the perfect time to start planting trees. Since the trees are going into their dormant phase, too, the nurseries are starting to stock bare root varieties, which are often 50% of the cost of their potted counterparts.

The best way to travel through space- Wormholes!
If you saw a wormhole, in reality, it would appear round, spherical, a bit like a black hole. Light from the other side passes through and gives you a window to a faraway place. The American Eagle- my Nemesis!
The Eagle. Since 1782 it has been the symbol of America and freedom. It is a mean bird. They are a vicious hunter that has taken numerous fish off of my fishing line. There have been two different occasions that their flight toward me has caused me to jump into a freezing river or lake. I can not count how many small dogs or cats have been lost to their long talons of deaths. On one occasion, while running late to a meeting- I came head-on to an Eagle perched upon the roof of my car, and it would not move. Do you know what it is like to call your boss and tell him you're running late because the mean Eagle won't let you leave your driveway?

Wild Horses in Iceland
The picture I grew up around horses. I rode horseback before I could walk and was fascinated with everything equine. I had every horse book and every horse figurine I could find. I watched Black Beauty on continual repeat. My passion for horses continued throughout my childhood and early adult years, even leading me to do my undergrad senior photography project on horseback while helping heard cattle. It’s not easy to steady a camera on a moving animal, but god was it fun. However, while I spent considerable time around horses, one experience had always eluded me. Seeing them in the wild. It was a dream, but one I didn’t realize I would have to travel so far to fulfill.

Small Acts Make A Big Difference
There are so many things we can do to reduce our carbon footprint but I believe one of the most important is education. I strive everyday to teach my children through example ways we can all continue to enjoy Earth for many generations to come. Reduce, recycle, reuse is practical and helpful and sharing these acts with our children is reasonable and needed.
