How irreplaceable tourism in Algeria can be

The past and the present are two sides of one coin called Algeria, between the beaches and the tourist and the historical attractions

The Northern Algeria is rich in natural beauty, so it is considered the desired destination by many tourists. The region's coastline along the Mediterranean comprises of scenic beaches and the cities are characterized by ancient ruins and ground-breaking architectural landmarks.

Beaches:

The Algerian beaches of northern Algeria are diverse in the type of landscapes and activities they offer. From the golden sand of Sidi Fredj Beach near Algiers to the tranquil inlet of Tigzirt beach in Tizi Ouzou, there is a chance of all sea lovers. The visitors may take pleasure in swimming in the sparkling waters, lying in the flowing sands or strolling round the next coastal towns and villages. For the ones who are looking for adventure, there are many things for snorkeling and diving, and of course, water sports can be done along the coast

Historical Landmarks:

History covers all of northern Algeria. Ancient remains or historical monuments can be found everywhere. The capital city of Algiers is known for its historical and cultural sites, including Casbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, famous for its narrow streets, Ottoman architecture, and ancient mosques. Close by, the remains of Tipasa brings the visualization of a Roman colony to the forefront with ruins such as amphitheaters, temples and mosaics.

Upstream, the city of Constantine features the magnificent scenery of breathtaking cliffs soaring above the Rhumel River. In here, visitors can stroll around the centuries-old Casbah, pay a visit to the Palace of Ahmed Bey, or cross the ancient Roman Bridge of Constantine.

Besides these famous sites, northern Algeria also houses striking towns such as Oran where cultural activities and historic sites like the Fort of Santa Cruz are the unusual attractions overlooking the Mediterranean.

At the heart of Algeria is a region filled with cultural beauty and historical value so that visitors could experience the country's spectacular past. From the ancient ruins to amazing natural wonder the region has lot of things to discover while preserving diversity.

Historical Monuments:

The Roman city of Timgad, one of the most outstanding historical landmarks in central Algeria and a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of its perfectly restored ruins of that era, is yet another wonder situated in the capital. Timgad, 1st century AD, was not only a Roman colony but also featured many impressive edifices such as theaters, baths, and temples.

Among the sites notable is the city of Dhemila of course a World Heritage Sites of UNESCO as well where ruins of roman times are standing amidst beautiful mountains of Aures. People can get lost in amongst the old lanes of Roman houses, temples and theaters, which are both fun and informative for those who want to see how the lifestyle of the Romans fared during the Empire period.

Tourist Attractions:

Central Algeria can be proud of its list of splendid sceneries created by nature that are complemented by various tourist attractions. To the eyes of the visitor, Atlas Mountains, running through the zone, give magnificent vision and opportunities to enjoy the nature and to take a hike, trek, or see the wild life. In addition to the Embarek check dam, the Chott Melrhir salt lake, which is the largest in Algeria, is a natural attraction to visiting bird watchers and photographers.

In addition to historical and nature discoveries, central Algeria has marvellous towns and hamlets in which tourists interact with the Algerian culture and hospitality. Cities like M'Sila or Médéa are doing this by creating everyday scenes; markets, mosques and traditional architecture.

Southern Algeria is the region where one can find historical monuments dating back hundreds of years, highlighting the area's unique cultural heritage and making it a must see destination for tourists. The past of Algeria and its present beauty will be portrayed through ancient civilizations and amazing natural sites that may be seen in this area.

Historical Monuments:

From the historical perspective, one of the most outstanding sites in southern Algeria is the settlement of Tamanrasset the Ancient city. Located in the midst of the Sahara Desert, Tamanrasset has over the years been a supersonic business center on the trans-Saharan caravan routes. A tourist is provided with an exciting opportunity of walking the ancient ruins of the monument and seeing the remnants of fortresses, mosques and traditional dwellings of Berbers.

Another bit worth mentioning is Ghardaia – a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986, famous for its wonderful city of ancient times and the cultural heritages. The city’s architectural marvels, which are called ksour and made of mud bricks (the city’s distinctive buildings), take us back centuries and remind us of the area’s rich heritage and Berber origins.

Tourist Attractions:

The southern Algeria not only features historic monuments for travelers everywhere but also natural wonders that captivate visitors from all over the globe. The Tassili n'Ajjer National Park is another UNESCO World Heritage Site which is popular for its magnificent rock formation, old rock art, and dead desert view. Visitors can enjoy an expedition in the park with a guided tour observing prehistoric cave paintings and archaeological sites with more than one thousand years.

Adventure seekers can explore here the tracks of hiking, climbing and tent camping at one of the really awesome places bordered by natural beauty. In the region, the desert oases become a mirage of serenity, with the idyllic town of Djanet serving as the main spot for recreation of tourists, who are able to enjoy the beauty of the landscape of the desert.
