Real freedom of life captured with love
During the summer vacation last year, I had the opportunity to visit Eco Park, Sri Lanka with my family. That was an epic memory in which I gathered beautiful life memories by spending time with nature. Each of these infallible moments carry vivid stories behind the shot. Not being an official photographer, I would love to collect memories from real life as I can recall the memories by seeing these pictures. Hence, the pictures were captured using my smartphone. Today I’m thinking wow for being able to capture them.
I met these lovely families who always gather in teams and keep caring for each other. It was so incredible the way they stay as families teaching us the spirit of togetherness. The little ones always gather around their parents. Their self-discipline and obedience blew my mind away.
The days of their lives filled with freedom and peace let this Earth breathe well. They deserve an Earth free of harm, pain and fear. Capturing a few of these shots were a bit scary since we couldn't always expect friendly gestures. In my point of view, living with freedom and human intervention is contrary to them. Therefore, they arm themselves for any unforeseen circumstances.
I wish I could go back to these lovely memories and spend time with these living creatures. Even a single move made my capture beautiful as if they were trained to pose. The beauty lies in the art of the creation itself.
This land is designed as a biosphere reserve mainly for elephants. However, travelling along the park can find a variety of living creatures. Being one of the well-known places for the safari in Sri Lanka, this land serves as a habitat for all these Earth’s creatures.
Diving down into the green, I met this beautiful creature on the planet with “eyespots” scattered across his plumage. The scenery was impeccable as he started spreading out the tail in a full semi-circle and fanned out. The experience was quite new to me watching the beauty of dancing and every move.
Going further down, I came across this tree being housing for these wonderful birds for many years according to our safari guide who shared his experience. I was amused to see these birds dwelling in this tree despite the season. They add living colours to the tree making the tree stay alive. The way that nature nourishing these living creatures made me think about the freedom they possess.
Knowing wildlife plays a critical role in ecological and biological processes, I felt the healthy functioning of this land having marvellous connections between animals and plants. The journey through this land was a real testimony to that. It was a huge eye-opener for me to realize the magnificent bond of nature.
Besides that, this journey made me realize the symbolic, economic and cultural importance of these species to the country. From childhood, I have admired the cultural background I've been brought up with. Wildlife serves as a special place of veneration in Sri Lankan culture. As well they add a massive value to the historical significance. All these creatures on earth need a better place and they deserve love from humankind. As a Sri Lankan, I am impressed to bestow them and live in the wilderness. The journey throughout this land helped me to capture these shots and shout out loud to introduce them to the world. The words might not be able to tell the whole experience but I’m certain that these shots can speak.
The experience was tremendous being able to capture these shots with loads of love. However, my earnest wish is to fill their lives with unfathomable freedom, better health and the happiness they deserve.
