When receiving a box of home photos from my brother, to my surprise their was included a story I had written in 1969 during the moon walk in elementary school....
Introduction
It was in the year 2000 when women first reached Pluto. Women had been to every planet except Pluto. Men had reached the moon, thats all. Women controlled the earth and every other place. The women went out with their other women's lib friends. They drank and talked. They had campaigns and formed a club. They had a President for each planet including Earth. Ms. Graham for Mercury, Ms. Land for Venus, Ms. Cuttingham for Earth, Ms. Bond for Mars, Ms. Car for Jupitar, Ms. Sales for Saturn, Ms. Tame for Neptune, Ms. Jones for Uranus, and Ms. Smith for Pluto. They had alrady elected Ms. Smith for Pluto before women had reached it. This story is about the settlement of Pluto and a new holiday.
Women of the Year
Pluto had all its buildings and houses up but they couldn't bring the people in yet because they had to build air pipes. You see to breath the air (Earth air of course) you had to ship the air through pipes from Earth to Pluto and the other planets. It takes about 30 days to build these pipes. These air pipes have never broken because they are made from heavy materials. Once they did break, on Mars and lucky for them, no one had settled there yet. Millions of people will settle on Pluto since hardly no one can fit on Earth anymore. You see there is no United States or countries anymore because it split from a earthquake. Then they all sank into the sea. There is hardly any land left on the Earth. Everyone lives on all the Galxies planets. No one can live on the moon because that is where all the planets dump their trash. No one can live on the stars becasue they are too hot, while no one has ever been to the sun. The women are the controllers of the Universe. They have jobs and get money. Hardly anyone is married.
The W.L.A. is famous all over the Universe. It stands for Womens Lib Association. They have speaches and campaigns. The W.L.A. elected Ms. Smith for the President of Pluto. This is what she said in her speach.
"My fellow voters, I am here to win, win against everything! We have alreadywon against men. I think this Universe has come a long way"
She won after that speach and became Ms. President of Pluto. It had been a month and people had already started to move in. On Pluto there is hardly any sunshine so they use huge heaters for heat and light. Ms. Land of Venus came over and visited Ms. Smith. They had fun for a while then they decided to make a holiday. They called all the other Presidents over for a meeting about it. MS. Car said, "I think we need a holiday because we girls do nothing but sit around ." "That's right! I'm tired of doing nothing!" Ms. Tame said. "All I do every day is sit around and do nothing" replied Ms. Bond. "That's why I had this meeting girls" said Ms. Smith. "I wish I could think of something" said Ms. Sales.
I have a suggestion!" Ms. Graham called out. "What??" asked the girls. "I think we should have a day where all we gals join in together and have a day called "Women of the Year!" "You meen elect a women that devotes her time for Womens Lib?" asked Ms. Cuttingham. “Yeah thats it!" said Ms. Jones. "O.k. girls lets tell everyone else said Ms. Smith.

Snow acts as a protective layer, insulating glaciers and regulating the slow release of meltwater into rivers during warmer months. However, researchers monitoring satellite data and ground stations report that recent winters have brought significantly less snowfall across large areas of the range. As a result, snowlines are rising higher up the slopes, leaving lower and mid-altitude regions exposed. This has turned once-white mountain landscapes into expanses of dark rock, which absorb more heat from the sun, accelerating warming in a dangerous feedback loop. Better data can help governments plan for future water management challenges and disaster risks. At the same time, scientists emphasize that local adaptation alone is not enough. Reducing global greenhouse gas emissions remains critical to slowing temperature rise and preserving what remains of the Himalayan snow and ice. What the Future Holds If current trends continue, large parts of the Himalayas could see permanent changes within decades.
