A hundred times higher than Everest

According to the results of the most cutting-edge research, there are two other shaped continents in the interior of the Earth, the height of which is even more than a hundred times higher than Mount Everest.

In other words, if we turn the structure of the Earth into a transparent model, we can see that the most central core is held by two hands, the two under the Pacific Ocean and Africa, respectively.

Discovery of an alien continent

So how did scientists discover it? This conclusion was not reached suddenly today, as early as in the 1970s, a team from Harvard University in the United States already had the initial observation, according to the data they collected at that time, there are two previously unnoticed plates in the innermost part of the Earth.

When seismic waves pass through them, they clearly show different characteristics from the rest of the surrounding space, and the difference is always very stable, which means that these are two stable structures, so they speculate that it is likely that the rocks are denser than the average level of the inner core.

In fact, in stratigraphic studies, such a phenomenon is nothing special, and the probability of occurrence is not low, so at that time the research team did not pay attention to them, but only marked them, and then made a record of naming and observation, but it was not expected that it slowly changed beyond what people expected.

As we know, seismic waves occur when earthquakes occur, and geological research institutes record the changes in various key areas at this time, and it was during this process that researchers found that these two areas discovered in the 1970s became clearer in terms of external features.

From the viewpoint of the entire exterior of the Earth, it was as if a hand was reverently holding the core in the palm of its hand. After a comprehensive analysis of the data, they found that the height of these two regions exceeded their initial estimates, surprisingly exceeding more than a thousand kilometers, higher than the highest peak we know of in the world.

The lateral also reached more than three thousand kilometers, and if placed on the surface of the earth, it can be completely already defined as two continents, because very abrupt and always makes people a little worried about its impact, so some people also call them the tumor of the earth.

The reason for their formation

So how exactly did they arise? Generally speaking, the huge rocks are concentrated on the surface of the Earth, while the core area of the Earth is almost all near liquid material, where not only the temperature is extremely high, but also the pressure is very terrible.

Such two huge rocks just appeared near the core of the Earth, and also maintained their state for nearly half a century without change, what kind of situation could cause such a phenomenon can be maintained until now?

Some experts believe that this is certainly an abnormal state, it is likely that the plate fragments from the external circle because of some kind of movement into the interior of the Earth, or even the possibility that this fragment is actually from space outside the Earth, such as some asteroids hit the Earth after, like a pistol, the bullet penetrated it.

It sounds like it makes sense, but scientists would have to find ample evidence to confirm these speculations, and the current situation does not make this possible.

Of course, the establishment of a reasonable model itself is also conducive to subsequent research, for example, researchers from Arizona State University believe that the two regions of the rock are indeed very likely to come from outer space, and not far from us, which is the Earth's satellite moon.

We all know that the birth of the Earth is roughly the same as the other planets, from the beginning a small structure continues to attract interstellar material in space, and then after a long evolution forms, but do you know how the moon was created?

According to the so-called collisional splitting theory, it came from an immature planet near the early Earth, but then a sudden collision occurred between the two, producing huge debris is the prototype of the moon.

It could have gone into the vast space, but the Earth's gravity was just able to pull it in, and the rest of the debris landed on the Earth's surface like a meteorite.

Of course, there are many different accounts of the specific process, one view is that the main part fell on the Earth, forming the basis of the moon is only a relatively small fragment, and the other view is that it is the opposite.

And this institution at Arizona State University believes that either way, there is a high probability that the immature planet fragment is the source of the tumor of the two Earths, except that it did not melt due to the high temperature and pressure inside, because of its material composition is very different from that of the Earth.

The immature planet is very similar to the early Earth in many ways, but because its volume and mass are much smaller in comparison, many excess impurities lead to a much lower combined density factor, although it is also mainly metallic iron as the material base.

In this way, when it hit the Earth, the less dense material will be thrown out, and the densest metal part rushed into the interior of the Earth with great inertia, while the external crust structure can soon fill up the path, which allows it to be completely sealed inside.

Logically this hypothesis does make sense, but further detailed research is needed to determine whether it is accurate or not, especially for how it could have remained unaffected by the inner core for so long, which has been discussed.

But there are still problems with the details, and of course, there is a possibility that the whole model will be overturned. There may be other possibilities for the origin of the two form continents, and only by clarifying its history can we predict its future development and save for a rainy day.
