This animal, which looks neither like a cow nor a sheep, is a national-level protected animal - the antelope.

"Six differences"

The antelope cow has another name - Liubu Xiang.

We have all heard of the four differences, but I don't think we have heard of the six differences. So what are these six differences?

The antelope has horns like a horned horse, a face like a horse, a back like a brown bear, hind legs like a hyena, hooves like a cow's hooves and a tail like a sheep's tail.

The magical combination of these six parts forms a gazelle cow. Isn't it incredible?

The word "bull" is used to describe the antelope because of its size and strength. Antelopes are huge, weighing up to 400kg as adults and growing up to around 2 metres. This size makes them virtually unbeatable, even for humans who do not carry tools.

There are four common species of antelope in China, the Gaoligong antelope, the Bhutanese antelope, the Sichuan antelope and the Qinling antelope.

Of these, the Qinling antelope is the most beautiful and is recognised as such. The combination of relatively high-coloured parts of the six elephants has been chosen, which is probably why the Qinling antelope is remembered by everyone.

The flexible "fat one"

The antelope also has another ability that contrasts greatly with itself - it is a flexible "fat man". How can I put it?

Although it weighs nearly a tonne, the antelope is large enough to fly over cliffs.

And it has become a habit for them to move between rocks and cliffs. If they were on the ground, they would not be used to it.

In addition, on the rocky cliffs, there is rock salt, which they love. They often lick the salt from the surface of the rocks, replenishing it one at a time.

Antelopes are herd animals and are also concerned with the division of labour within their species. When setting off on a march, one of the leading antelope will usually stand at the front of the group and look around, acting as a lookout. When a crisis or unusual situation is detected, a warning is given to the rest of the herd to prepare for it.

It is also the instinct of the antelope to protect the weaker ones. In a group, the strongest antelope will walk on the outermost edge to protect the young and the youngest antelope. I must say that the love between animals is touching.

Antelopes are aggressive and naturally not easy to deal with, and will even attack humans. Every year, there are reports of antelope injuring people. And in many cases of injuries to twisted antelope, most of them are caused by injuries to individual twisted antelopes, which means that special attention must be paid if you encounter an individual twisted antelope in the wild. Solitary antelopes have a greater tendency to attack and harm people.

Today, the antelope is at the top of the food chain. With the gradual improvement of the environment, the antelope population has started to proliferate. Without the constraints of natural predators, the antelope will gradually take over the functions of top creatures that have become extinct, such as the South China tiger.
