Noah’s journey to the purple flower

Bee on the purple flower

“I think I’m safe here, she can’t see me…I bet your wondering who I am, You can call me Noah; as you can see I am a bee.. I’m trying to escape from Mrs. Clarey’s house. She has some kind of underlying problem with me, every time she see’s me, she tries to squat me. Why? I haven’t got a damn clue, your gonna have to ask her. Sometimes It’s like she thinks I’m a killer bee, I don’t know how everyone says we all look alike. I don’t sting Mrs Clary… I’m flying around minding my business, fixing YOUR flowers and you still chase me. Honestly, she’s so un-grateful she doesn-!

“AHHHHHHHHH” Oh here we go again. So, this is a classic case of the Mrs Clarey break down…she’s seen me. Where’s the window, where’s the window….THERE. Now I just need to get to the window somehow, If I go around the sofa, behind the lamp, swoop down in front of the book shelf…she shouldn’t be able to bend that low; I know her knees are bad. Then that gives me a clear view of the window. I’ve lost her for now so let me just stay here for a while, maybe she will think I’m gone.

I know you guys probably don’t understand what’s going on here. Every day I get to Mrs Clarey’s house because she has the sweetest flowers in town. I make sure I pollinate every single one for her, and take it back to my nest. I know how much she loves honey, and I just want to make her happy. I’m loyal to her and her flowers, I ALWAYS come back, sometimes I even bring my friends with me to help, all those crops she’s trying to grow wouldn’t still be going if it wasn’t for me. All that vanilla and almonds she uses in her cakes, THAT’S ALL ME. Doesn’t she get that she needs me, FUCK IT, the whole human population needs me. You know what else, even when Mr Jackson was round here, Mrs Clarey’s husband pulled up and I saw Mr Jackson jump out the window in his draws. Mhmm you already know what he was doing, she’s lucky I never told no one. If only she knew…Maybe she wouldn’t always be trying to kill me. I know some bee’s may say fight back, but that’s not who I am. I’m not a killer bee. If I sting anyone, that’s it, it’ll be suicide. So, all I can do is run and hope one day she understands.

I’m Struggling guys, really I am. You have no idea how difficult it is getting for us. Normally everything is perfect, on time and in order. But now, the climate change is messing with us… Its disrupting the synchronized timing of the flowers blooming and the timing at which we need to pollinate. If the snow melts too soon, the flowers will bloom earlier…how do we know when to follow suit if it’s always changing? Let me school you for a second…If the flowers are available, but none of us are around to pollinate them…that phenology mismatch is a problem. A BIG PROBLEM! How am I suppose to survive? How are the flowers going to reproduce? How does the cycle of life continue? With out me? The bee? People need me, but their scared so they try to kill me.. The world is changing because of the people, which is also going to kill me. How do I win? You humans, all your brains, your knowledge and technology…you’re the only one’s who can save us. Just help us, please. Help us help the world. Oh wow, look at that pretty purple flower outside.

Oh there’s Mrs Clary’s, she’s spotted me… I thought for a minute there she was going to roll up that newspaper. She seems so relaxed this time, maybe she’s ok with me being here. Wait…What’s that…Noooo, nooo Mrs Clary. That’s Bee killer spray, Oh shit.. I’m outta here. ”

And that’s how I got a picture of the bee on the purple flower.
