We Live in Time 2024
My thoughts only, not a movie review
I recently watched the movie " We Live in Time 2024" starring Andrew Garfield as Tobias and Florence Pugh as Almut.
My first exposure to this movie was through a YouTube short showing a behind-the-scenes moment where the actors were getting very intimate. Apparently, the director had said "cut," but they didn't hear it, so they just kept going. What ensued was a rather awkward and humorous moment, leaving me to wonder if the film would be a raunchy, steamy romance.
However, after watching the movie, I realised it's far from that. Instead, it's a beautifully emotional film that explores the complexities of relationships and the human experience. Yes, there are scenes with nudity, but they're not the focus. Instead, the film delves much deeper, showcasing a beautiful, romantic narrative.
What struck me most was the level of understanding between the characters. Throughout the different phases of their lives, the way they communicate, support, and truly understand each other is something to aspire to. I wish more people could embody such qualities in their relationships; it's something to look up to.
The characters, portrayed with raw authenticity by Pugh and Garfield, navigate life's complexities with a level of empathy and compassion that is truly inspiring. Their bond is a testament to the power of love and the importance of open communication.
The film's use of time jumps is both innovative and effective, weaving a captivating narrative that unfolds the story in a manner that's touching and wonderful, unlike the (slightly confusing) time jumps in the last film I watched, "Here" (I will give the link to that post down below).
This approach allows for a nuanced exploration of the characters' evolving relationship, highlighting the significance of every moment, both big and small. The way "We Live in Time" handles its narrative is refreshing and coherent, making the relationships it portrays full of love, respect, and depth.
I absolutely loved watching this film, and I recommend it if you're looking for something slow, meaningful, and beautiful. However, please note that some scenes may not be suitable for all audiences, so viewer discretion is advised.
This is a wonderful movie, and I hope it's your cup of tea too. It's not for everyone, given its pace and themes, but for those who appreciate a well-crafted story with time jumps that enhance rather than confuse, this film is a delight.
I highly recommend it to those seeking a deeply moving cinematic experience, it's a beautiful, emotional, and romantic film. It's a film that lingers in your mind long after the credits roll, leaving you with a sense of hope and the belief in the enduring power of love.

What a good movie review. I really cannot afford to go too many movies as of now. It does sound like an interesting movie though.
