Underrated but Entertaining – Ang Mutya Ng Section E Series Review
Ang Mutya Ng Section E 2025

To be honest, I had heard the name of this drama many times before but I always ignored it. But when people started talking about it everywhere—in comments, DMs, reels—then I thought that there must be something... and after watching it, I really felt that I made a mistake by waiting for so many days.
Still, there are some flaws, but despite that, this drama will be successful in entertaining you if you go to watch it.
Well, if we start from the basics, then this is a Philippines drama named Ang Mutya Ng Section E which has a total of 16 episodes.
It is being said that its story and world have been adapted from a book on which three books have already been written, meaning it is kind of a trilogy that you may get to see in the coming times.
Yes, the very important thing is that it is not available in the dubbed form right now if you want to see it then you will have to take the help of the powers of the internet and by going there you can see it in subtitles, I have also seen it by making similar arrangements, so you will also have to do the same.
But if you are really going to see it then I tell you that if you like watching school romantic comedy dramas then this series will not disappoint you.
If we talk about the story, then its journey follows a girl named Jay-jay who goes to study in a school and in that school, she gets selected in Section E, which means that there are sections in schools like Section A, Section B, Section C, Section D etc.
So Jay Jay's name is put in Section E, and the twist is that there are only men in that section, which means there are no girls, and those men are such that if any girl comes into their class, they chase her away and they try to do the same with Jay Jay as well.
But Jay Jay is one of those trees which are crooked; nothing happens to them during a storm, while straight trees often go somewhere with the flow, which means she is not simple at all; she decides that no matter what you do, I am not running away.
So this war starts between boys vs Jay Jay, what twists and turns come in it and also what is the trauma of these people's families
And the most important thing is why there are no girls in that section E? What happened? And what is the past of their leader? To know all this you will have to watch this drama.
Ang Mutya Ng Section E Review
Look, if we talk about the series, then I will just say this much: if you like watching romantic school dramas, then you should definitely try this series.
The execution is very good with a very simple story, especially I must say that it is the execution that kept me hooked to this series throughout.
Otherwise, to be honest, the plot is not that convincing, which means it is a very normal story, and you can predict the things that are there if you have seen many school dramas.
Still, despite that, the execution and presentation are very engaging, especially the chemistry of the actors/actresses, which is very solid, very beautiful and very cute; you will enjoy watching it.
One more thing to keep in mind is that this is not a big-budget series, so the production quality that you will get to see is not going to be top-notch or out of the box. You will have to adjust your expectations a little bit accordingly.
Still, the elements of its story, whether it is school drama, family drama, friendship drama or the animated love transformation, you will enjoy watching it if you still enjoy such themes.
As I said, there are some shortcomings, like the story is predictable, and it has been stretched to 16 episodes. Even if the makers had taken it to 10 episodes, it would have been enough according to me, but the way it has been stretched, you will feel the length.
Still leaving that aside, I will only tell you that if you have not watched any Philippines Drama till now and you want to watch a great school romantic comedy-drama with a great love story, then definitely I will recommend you to watch this drama, you will definitely enjoy it.
I have enjoyed this series somewhere, even though many things were predictable for me, but still, I enjoyed it, so I will judge this series overall and rate it 8 out of 10 stars.
If you have watched it, then tell me how you liked it by writing in the comment box.
