I liked this film more than I expected. I think the reason is that, being a body horror film, it raised my eyebrows: if it's poorly made, these types of films tend to be very annoying and unpleasant to watch, and not in a good way. However, in this case, the result was quite the opposite.
First of all, I liked the characters, and the fact that the protagonists are a real-life couple gives the film a special touch. The plot is clear and, in my opinion, makes much more sense than The Substance, another much-discussed film within this subgenre. I'm not saying The Substance is bad, but I feel that Together is better constructed narratively.
I thought Dave Franco's performance was very good, and Alison Brie was also good. I liked how the tension gradually escalated, although I must admit that I found the ending horrifying. I know it's the goriest scene, but I think there were better ways to close the story.
Overall, I thought it was a creative and original idea. I like how it reflects some people's fear of commitment, and I think it's an excellent way to explore that theme. In conclusion, I don't think it's a bad film; on the contrary, it's a very solid entry within the subgenre, although I would change that ending.
