Newtopia Review: A Breath of Fresh Air in Zombie Genre
Watch or Skip?

So look, first of all, I want to feed one thing in your mind related to this K-drama, this is not a masterpiece K-drama, if you are going to start it with the expectation that you are going to watch a masterpiece series, then don't do that, you may or may not get anything but you will get disappointment.
The second important thing is this is not All of Us Are Dead; it was a pure, thrilling adventure, which I don't think can be compared to Newtopia.
This is a different zombie series that tries to bend its genre in its style.
So what is it and which audience will like this K-drama I will also tell you that not everyone will like it, this is what I am going to share on this topic today in case you want to know how cool this zombie K-drama Newtopia of Jisoo is, should you watch it or not, just stay connected, you will get the answers to all the questions here.
Talking about the basic details, this K-drama has come with roughly eight episodes, and the length of each episode has been kept around 40-40 minutes.
Yes, if you want, you can watch the series with the family as well, but I want to make one thing clear: in this series, you will get to see a lot of bloodthirsty violence, meaning there are so many tearing scenes that I would probably recommend not to watch it with children.
Well, you will find it in Hindi dubbing on Prime Video's platform and we have to praise the person who has written the dialogues for its Hindi dub. From my side, a 21-gun salute to whoever was its Hindi writer. To tell you the truth, you have done an amazing job. Its Hindi dubbing dialogues are so funny that even if you don't feel like laughing, you will still laugh.
Story?
There is a couple who love each other very much, just like Nibba/Nibbi, there are some reasons they are separated from each other, i.e. the boy is in the military due to which he is posted at another place and the girl is doing some different work at some other place due to which there is a long distance relationship between them.
But do you know that in such relationships, someone or the other comes in between and tries to kill the niece?
The same thing happens with these couples also due to which their relationship comes on the mode of breakup, but in the middle of this, another twist comes into their world, i.e., there is an outbreak of zombies.
Both are far from each other and now both are fighting a survival battle at their respective places. Will they be able to win this battle by escaping from zombies? Will they be able to meet each other again at the end or not? To know all this you will have to watch this Newtopia.
Now, if I have to define this series for you in one line, then I will just say that it's a good, decent, and entertaining K-drama.
There are many loopholes in it, which I am going to talk about, but we will talk about some good things first.
The Good
So I will simply say that if you want to have a different and unique experience in zombie K-drama, like zombies doing blood or violence, but apart from that if you want to enjoy such a romantic journey in which you get to see comedy and situation of error at every turn, then I would recommend you to try it once because the series is not ruined, it has violence, it has a decent story and a charming romantic angle, along with this some of the characters are very interesting, you will enjoy their naughty-naughty antics a lot.
It is not that you will get to see zombies etc., on a low budget; no, the zombies that you get to see, their look, the way their makeup, etc., have been done, you will get scared after seeing them.
I would like to mention that in episode 6, this K-drama touches the sky, I mean, there is a train sequence in episode 6, but I will not be able to define how amazing it was.
The performance of the lead is very good; the supporting cast created an atmosphere; I will praise it, especially the performance of our hero's friend was very good, including the manager.
The Bad
The story of the series does not show you anything that would make you jump out of your seat and stand on all three legs and say that you have seen something amazing in the genre of zombies. Its story is very decent, even though it has been ended in a very predictable way, meaning you will know what is going to happen in the end.
So you will not get to see any mind-bending twists and turns in this story. It is a very decent story.
The second thing is that its major problem is that the mass audience will not be able to tolerate its comedy. In some places, the comedy hits, and in some places, it misses completely. It becomes over the top. Where the situation is very serious, I did not like the comedy that has been added there, meaning the situation is serious and characters are laughing, so it does not hit that much.
Apart from this, character development is also weak. You don't feel much emotional care for any character.
The good thing is that characters keep dying unpredictably, but one doesn't feel the emotional angle that, hey, he was killed; he should not have been killed. This feeling doesn't come.
There are some other small shortcomings on which I don't want to spoil your mood by commenting.
Conclusion
I will just tell you this much if you want to watch such a zombie K-drama in which you get to see a romantic angle as well as comedy as well as violence, then I will recommend you to watch three episodes of this K-drama. If you like them, then you should continue; otherwise, drop them because, as I said, not everyone will like them. It will depend on the audience to the audience whether I liked it or you didn't like it. There was no expectation of that masterpiece, to be honest.
My rating for this will is 7.3 out of 10 stars because somewhere I have enjoyed its things but many things have disappointed me a bit as well, still, it is not like the series is completely bogus or boring, you will not enjoy it, try it, if you like it then tell me how you liked it.
