Chhorii Movie Recap

Why don't skeletons fight each other?

Because they don't have the guts.

This week, the sequel of a very interesting film has been released on Amazon Prime Video. Chhorii 2 is the sequel of the 2021 film Chhorii, which itself is a remake of the 2017 Marathi film Lapachhapi.

The Chhorii film is well based on girls, but it is also a horror movie. In the olden times, whenever something wrong happened the women who spoke openly were called witches.

Through this film, we get to know the story of one such witch.

So, without wasting any time, let's do a recap of this film so that you do not have any problems while watching part 2.

What is this film about?

At the beginning of the film, we see a woman running in a sugarcane field. She is pregnant and three small children come to her and hand her a knife. She does not take the knife at first, but then she sees some people coming, so she picks up the knife and cuts her stomach.

Then we meet Sakshi in the present timeline who is pregnant and works in an NGO. She loves children a lot. Her husband, Hemant, is very caring.

When Sakshi is eating snacks, Hemant sees some men sitting in a truck who are staring at her. Then he looks at his driver, Kajla, who seems a little worried.

At night Sakshi wakes up and sees that her husband is missing. She goes downstairs and sees that some men are beating Hemant.

Then it is revealed that Hemant had taken a huge loan to start his business and he has not been able to repay the return yet.

Sakshi can do anything to save her family, and hence, she agrees with Hemant's idea of going underground.

Kajla gives the idea of her village house for them to hide.

After liking the idea, they pack some things and leave for a deserted place.

Then, they come to the same place where the sugarcane field fell, which is shown in the first scene.

Sakshi and Hemant both look very happy and are joking a few hours ago, Hemant was beaten up, and Sakshi and her child's life was in danger.

Kajla drops them both and they get lost in the fields like Bhool Bhulaiyaa.

When they lose their way, Hemant leaves his wife and goes to find Kajla's house.

Sakshi sits on a stone and falls asleep. When she wakes up, it is dark. She panics when she doesn't find her husband but somehow manages to reach home.

Hemant is already there with a woman named Devi. Hemant says he was looking for her and says that he shouldn't have kept roaming around.

Then Devi calls him inside and offers him food but reminds him that he should eat only after his husband has finished his meal.

While the men are sitting outside, Sakshi finally has dinner and learns that she is staying in the house where Devi's brother-in-law once lived.

Sakshi rests the night and talks to Hemant about Devi's old-fashioned thinking. Hemant reminds her that Devi and her husband Kajla are so nice that they gave their house to him to hide and she should accept him for who he is.

The next morning Sakshi finds Hemant sitting outside and Devi treating him.

Sakshi wants to go to the fields with Hemant and Kajla but Devi makes excuses and says that she should rest a little first.

After that, Sakshi goes for a walk in the fields, and she feels that someone else is also roaming around there.

What happened to Sunaini?

Later, Hemant tells her that he wants to go back to the city so that he can find a solution to his money problems, but Sakshi has to stay there. Sakshi does not like this idea at all but she agrees somehow.

The next morning, she roams around, and Devi treats her extra nicely, applies oil to her hair and takes care of her.

Sakshi says that now she does not miss her mother because Devi is such a nice person. Sakshi happily lets Hemant go.

Later that day, Sakshi sees a mute widow roaming around and Devi misbehaves with her.

Devi reveals that she is Rani, her son's wife who had a miscarriage and says that Devi is justified in misbehaving with her.

Sakshi is not happy to see this but she doesn't say anything.

That night, she hears the bell and thinks Rani must be at the door. She goes outside and sees three boys running around laughing and joking. Sakshi thinks they are just playing so she starts playing with them and doesn't find anything weird. Before she can ask anything further, the kids run away.

Devi, on hearing this, asks Sakshi to stay away from them but doesn't tell her why because it is obvious that Sakshi doesn't listen to her and says she will still play with the kids.

Devi then suddenly gets angry at Sakshi and says she is inviting trouble.

The next day, Sakshi sees a recorder on which a song of hide and seek is playing. She sees those three kids again and starts playing with them even though she was forbidden earlier.

Sakshi goes to the room of Devi's brother-in-law's wife. Sakshi is roaming around there and some ghostly incident happens there. She brings the recorder with her and Devi sees it. She snatches the radio slash recorder from her hand and throws it in the fields.

Sakshi gets angry and a fight starts between the two women.

Now Sakshi does not treat Devi like a mother. She goes to sleep, and when she wakes up and hears Hemant's voice, she immediately runs outside and hugs her husband, who is talking to Devi.

Devi does not tell Hemant anything about their fight but Sakshi takes her stand and asks Hemant to take her away from there immediately as she has grown up from this farm life.

Hemant agrees, but that night, when the two are sneaking out, Hemant is hit on the head, and Sakshi is made to smell something to make her unconscious.

She wakes up later in a drunken state, and a ritual takes place where a priest raises three fingers and ash is applied to Sakshi's head and neck.

When Sakshi wakes up again, she sees Devi tying her hands and legs. Devi tells her about her sister-in-law Sunaini who she thought was a witch.

When she got married to Devi's brother-in-law, she became very close to Devi's three young children and they stopped listening to their mother.

Devi complained to her brother-in-law, and he told his wife to stay away from Devi's children, but Sunaini did not do anything like that because she was going to be a mother now, and she felt very close to those children.

One day, those children tell her that the child growing up in her womb will be killed, and they give her a knife so that she can kill her child before that happens.

Sunaini's husband then beats her a lot and Sunaini then accidentally kills her husband.

But Devi doesn't tell the whole truth. She says that Sunaini then cut her womb and jumped into the well with the boys, but before that, she cursed that family that from now on, their lineage would not continue.

Devi tells Sakshi that now she will have to live for three days so that this curse is broken. She says that she got her son married three times, but none of the children survived, and none of the wives survived except Rani, who survived but had become dumb and now lives with them like a maid.

Then she tells that her son Rajveer is now in the city, he is married, and his wife is also pregnant, and now Devi wants that child to be saved from this curse somehow.

So Devi's solution now is to hand over Sakshi's child to Sunaini's ghost.

At this point, the question arises: if Devi wants the curse to be broken, why doesn't she stay with Sakshi for three days? Devi leaves Sakshi on her own, who frees herself from the bondage and starts wandering here and there without eating or drinking anything.

Sakshi decides that she will now go out of the fields and navigate her way out with the help of the scarecrow that was visible from the terrace.

But she is unable to get out of this maze-like field, she gets hungry and goes back inside the house and fills her stomach by eating whatever she finds so that her child can be saved.

Frustrated, she makes a map of her attempts to escape using her scarf to figure out where she went.

Finally, Sakshi breaks down when she realizes that it is almost impossible to escape from here. She repeatedly sees the three boys and has visions of scary scenes from her past. She feels that she is Sunaini herself.

And in one scene, she even burns inside the room. She sees Sunaini sad when she learns that she is going to give birth to a girl.

But she still talks lovingly about her to the three boys. They are excited to play with the new baby.

The next moment Sakshi sees Sunaini trying to run away. When her husband comes after her, she pushes him and he accidentally falls on a knife.

Devi shouts at her and says that she is a witch and a murderer too.

Now Sakshi suddenly gets labor pain and wakes up to see Devi taking her daughter and throwing her in a well.

Sakshi wakes up screaming and sees that she is still pregnant.

Everything was just like a horrible dream.

Does Sakshi or her daughter survive?

Sakshi tries to run away one more time and is forced to take the same decision as Rani. She is given a knife which she takes to her stomach.

Sakshi begs Sunaini to let her go and the scene cuts.

In the next scene, Sakshi returns home but she has not cut her stomach. Hemant comes to her and tries to take her back.

But Sakshi says that she will expose the truth.

Through her visions, she learns that Sunaini is not a witch but a mother who just wants to save her daughter. When her in-laws come to know about this, they start beating her, and when she tries to escape, she accidentally kills her husband, which Devi sees with her own eyes.

Devi asks her son to burn Sunaini alive. However, Sunaini gives birth to a girl. Devi and Kajla then take the baby to a well to hand her over as a sacrifice so that their crops will be good.

Sunaini jumps into the well after her child. To save her, the three children try to save Sunaini but they also fall into the well and die.

After that, all the women who marry Rajveer conceive a girl and Sunaini tries to kill the child so that her in-laws cannot sacrifice her or this dangerous lineage cannot continue.

Sakshi reveals a shocking truth. She has come to know that her husband Hemant is actually Rajveer who was involved in those killings. She tells the family that she is leaving forever.

Hemant, or rather Rajveer, tries to kill Sakshi, but Rani comes in between and stabs him. The speechless woman also attacks her in-laws.

Sakshi goes to the fields and, with the help of those three children, finally sees a path. Rani also follows her, whose clothes are soaked with blood, but Sakshi lets her go with her.

This is where the film ends.

What can we expect from Part 2?

I have not seen part 2 yet, I just saw the trailer from which it is known that the sequel of this movie will take us to the roots of this whole tradition where we will meet a ruthless king and his maid who will try to snatch Sakshi's daughter so that she can be sacrificed.

Along with this, we will probably see the origin of this story as well, how some simple villagers strangle their logic in front of a compressor and bow down to his dictatorship.

Along with this, we will probably also know whether Hemant, aka Rajveer, is still alive or not and whether Sakshi will finally be able to save her child or not. We have to see all this in Chhorii 2, which has already come on Prime Video, and I am just going to sit and watch it now.

Whose details I will share soon. Make sure you subscribe so that you do not miss anything.

I made a small mistake, he is Rajbir, not Rajveer.
