Not because Hamas breached the Gaza fence. Israel had been preparing the political, military, and propaganda groundwork for total annihilation for years. October 7 simply handed them the key to unlock the final phase of the Palestinian people’s destruction.

At 06:29 on Saturday morning, Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad fighters crossed the militarized border in at least 27 separate locations. Using paragliders, pickup trucks, and motorcycles, approximately 3,800 armed men entered Israeli territory. By the end of the day, 1,139 Israelis and foreign nationals were dead: 695 Israeli civilians, 373 security forces personnel, and 71 foreigners. Another 251 people were taken captive into Gaza. The majority of civilian deaths occurred at the Nova music festival (364 killed) and in kibbutzim such as Be’eri (101 killed), Kfar Aza (52 killed), and Nir Oz (one in four residents murdered or abducted).

These are facts. The killings were brutal, deliberate, and in many cases accompanied by sexual violence and mutilation. The United Nations Special Representative on Sexual Violence in Conflict confirmed in March 2024 that there are “reasonable grounds to believe” Hamas committed rape and gang-rape on October 7.

These crimes are war crimes and crimes against humanity. No one disputes that.

What happened next, however, is genocide.

Within hours of the attack, Israel’s response was not calibrated to recover hostages or neutralize Hamas. It was designed to exterminate an entire civilian population under the cover of “self-defense.”

By 08:00 on October 7, before the full scale of the attack was even known, Israeli Air Force jets were already bombing Gaza. By nightfall, entire residential towers were collapsing. The first 24 hours alone saw more than 1,000 munitions dropped on one of the most densely populated places on earth.

On October 8, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant announced a “complete siege” on Gaza: “There will be no electricity, no food, no fuel, no water. We are fighting human animals and we are acting accordingly.”

On October 9, Israeli Energy Minister Israel Katz declared: “All civilian infrastructure in Gaza is a legitimate target.”

On October 10, the Israeli army spokesperson, Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari, stated on live television: “We will turn Gaza into a city of ruins. Emphasis is on damage, not accuracy.”

On October 12, President Isaac Herzog told the world: “There are no innocent civilians in Gaza. The entire nation is responsible.”

These are not isolated statements. They are policy.

Between October 7 and November 27, 2025, Israel has:

Dropped over 85,000 tons of bombs on Gaza — more explosive power than the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki combined.

Destroyed or severely damaged 70% of all homes (over 420,000 housing units).

Obliterated every single university in Gaza.

Bombed 29 of 35 hospitals, rendering the entire health system non-functional.

Killed 312 medical personnel and 224 humanitarian workers (including 179 UNRWA staff).

Deliberately targeted 187 mosques and 3 churches.

Used white phosphorus in populated areas (confirmed by Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch).

Cut off all food, water, fuel, and medicine for weeks at a time, then trickled in aid at 3–5% of pre-war levels while bombing the trucks.

Issued 27 separate evacuation orders forcing 1.9 million people — 90% of Gaza’s population — into ever-shrinking “safe zones,” then bombed those zones.

By November 27, 2025, the Gaza Ministry of Health — whose figures the UN, WHO, and even Israeli intelligence have repeatedly confirmed as accurate and conservative — records 70,525 identified dead. Independent satellite analysis by forensic experts at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and the Lancet estimates the true toll, including bodies still under rubble and indirect deaths, exceeds 186,000.

70% of identified dead are women and children.

That is not collateral damage. That is the deliberate annihilation of a protected group.

Israel’s own soldiers have filmed themselves celebrating the destruction. One viral video from November 2023 shows an IDF brigade dancing and singing: “We will wipe Gaza off the face of the earth… there are no uninvolved civilians.” Another unit filmed themselves blowing up a university while chanting “May your village burn.”

The Israeli military’s “Lavender” AI system marked 37,000 Palestinians for assassination with minimal human oversight, accepting a 10% civilian death rate as “acceptable.” The “Where’s Daddy?” system was designed to strike targets when they returned home to their families, maximizing civilian casualties. Israel’s stated war aims have never been hostage recovery or the destruction of Hamas. On October 28, 2023, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu invoked the biblical Amalek: “You must remember what Amalek has done to you… do not forget.” In the Bible, God commands the Israelites to kill every man, woman, child, and animal of Amalek. Netanyahu repeated the reference multiple times.

On November 1, 2023, Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu publicly called for dropping a nuclear bomb on Gaza and said “there are no uninvolved civilians.” Far from being reprimanded, he retained his position.

On December 27, 2024, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich declared that only 100,000–200,000 Palestinians should be “left alive” in Gaza after the war — a public admission of intent to reduce the population by 95%.

These are not fringe voices. These are senior cabinet ministers speaking openly of extermination.

Israel’s actions match its words.

Water: Israel deliberately destroyed Gaza’s three main water desalination plants and 70% of the water network. UNICEF reports that every single child in Gaza now drinks water contaminated with sewage and salt.

Food: Israel blocked food for 42 days straight in northern Gaza in late 2024, creating the first documented case of famine in the 21st century (IPC Phase 5). Children began dying of starvation on camera in January 2025.

Medicine: Israel bombed the only oxygen plant, the only psychiatric hospital, and the only limb reconstruction center. Amputations are performed on children without anesthesia using mobile-phone flashlights.

Shelter: Israel designated 86% of Gaza as “no-go zones” or “kill zones,” then shot people trying to retrieve bodies or search for food.

This is the legal definition of genocide under Article II(c) of the Genocide Convention: “Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part.”

Israel does not deny the destruction. It celebrates it.

The hostages? As of November 2025, 97 remain in Gaza, 34 confirmed dead. Israel has repeatedly sabotaged ceasefire deals that would have brought them home. In November 2023, Israel agreed to a deal, then resumed bombing the moment the first hostages were released. In 2025, when mediators presented a U.S.-backed permanent ceasefire, Netanyahu rejected it, saying “the war will continue until total victory” — a euphemism for total annihilation.

October 7 was real. Hamas committed atrocities. But Israel’s response was never about October 7.

It was the green light to complete the Nakba.

Every bomb dropped, every child starved, every hospital destroyed is part of the same century-long project: making Palestine Judenrein — Palestinian-free.

The death toll climbs daily. The footage is livestreamed. The evidence is overwhelming.

Israel is committing genocide in Gaza. It is doing it right now. And it is doing it in your name if you stay silent.
