Originally graffitied with the message “there is always hope” on London’s Waterloo Bridge in 2003 by controversial, anonymous, prolific political & environmental activist and artist, Banksy.

Reproduction framed canvas auctioned at Sotheby’s in 2018 for $1.4m.

Subsequent shredding stunt increased it’s value to $25.4m.

I love Banksy. I remember learning about the art at school and discussions around the artist’s identity. This stunt wowed the worms, it seemed, and I still cannot believe how much it was worth; we really over value some things, especially visual art, imo.

  • I've seen this art before in pictures but I never knew it's value!
