A lady has passed on after a van driver smashed into people on foot on the Strand in central London.

The Met Police said three other individuals were harmed, one of whom was cleared out with possibly life-threatening wounds. Two of the three are being treated in hospital.

The van driver, a 26-year-old man, was captured at the scene on doubt of causing passing by careless driving and drug-driving. Police said the crash, which happened at around 11:40 GMT near to King's College London and Somerset House, was not terror-related.

A King's College London representative said they were mindful of the occurrence and were liaising with crisis administrations. A lady was murdered and two people on foot harmed, counting one truly, when a van mounted the asphalt on the Strand in central London.

The driver of the van was captured at the scene on doubt of causing passing by careless driving and driving with a concentration of drugs over the legitimate limit.

The Metropolitan police said the occurrence was not being treated as fear based oppression related.

Police were on the Strand taking explanations from witnesses. Pictures from the scene appeared a police cordon around a dull dim Portage Travel van.

A London emergency vehicle benefit representative said: “We were called nowadays (Tuesday) at 11.39am to reports of an occurrence in the Strand, WC2.

“We sent assets to the scene counting rescue vehicle groups, progressed paramedics, an occurrence reaction officer, a clinical group supervisor and London’s discuss ambulance.

“We treated four individuals at the scene. Tragically, in spite of our best endeavors, one individual was articulated dead. We took two other individuals to healing center and one was released at scene.”

Ali, a PhD understudy at King’s College London who did not wish to share his surname, was clearing out lesson when he saw crisis administrations accumulated close the scene.
