Train on the Lam

I woke up to thunder and lightning. I could hear noises in the background. I felt so sleepy and groggy. My cabin is ocean blue. It was a deluxe suite. I had never seen a cabin on a train this large. I picked up a gold note card that had a note on it. It was so gold and fancy that I almost thought it was made out of real gold. The note read:

Dear Reinhold,

This train is headed to Phoenix. You are locked in this cabin for your protection. Don’t be stubborn, I am helping you as your right-hand man. You have more than enough food, water, and entertainment provided. This is our best suite that is for staff only. There is enough formula, diapers, and a medical kit for you and the girls.

I started to look around the suite to see all the things that Isaac had provided. I saw my beautiful twins, Arianna and Hannah fast asleep. They still had on their Christmas outfits. I saw the girls’ Rainbow My Little Pony suitcase with my travel case. My Equestrian girls loved my little pony. Even now, I could hear the theme song in my head. The only song that I hated more than My Little Pony was Baby Shark.

I went back to the dresser and noticed a newspaper article. I saw my picture as I read the headline: “Educator and Doctor, Reinhold Chase Wanted As The Top Suspect in a Twin Murder Case” I was grateful for my friend, Isaac Champion. Ike was my right- hand man. The teachers at Georgia Tech described him as an engineering genius. Ike graduated with honors at Georgia Tech with a Dual Masters Degree in Engineering and Computer Science.

Icy Ike and I grew up together. We went to the same church in the small town of Millen, Georgia. Hurricane Branch Baptist Church was our pillar. We played basketball together under the amazing Coach Jimmy Ford. Also, we dated twin sisters, Isabelle and Brielle. The twins' mom, Mrs. Christa Greer had raised 6 children including the twins. Her husband was pastor, James Greer. Pastor Greer was a phenomenal man. He could preach and love to say, “Ain't no use coming to church if you ain't go have church!” Then he would sing,” God is able to do what he said, he would do… He’s able.’

James Greer's voice is amazing.

Pastor Greer mentored many young women and men. He focused on helping abused, abandoned people especially those who suffered from trauma. Pastor James grew up as the son of a whorish woman named Veronique. His dad, known only as George, had abandoned young James and his mom, Veronique on James' 2nd birthday, July 17, 1976. Pastor James said he gave his life to God at age 6 when Apostle Albert took him in. Apostle Albert adopted James as his own son just as God had adopted Albert when he was 11.

But I digress, let's finish the story on the lamster of Reinhold. So the twins' mother Christa had a degree in business and worked as an accountant. She completed my parents'' taxes and I fell in love with “Bella” that day as we played outside under the church lights. After Mrs. Christa finished my parents' income taxes, she told my parents, “ Josef and Mamie, you need to pray for Pastor James because he will give away all of our money to save the world.”

I started to think about my love for Isabella and I hope she was fine. The article said that one of the Greer twins was shot fatally but the other was able to make out alive from the fatal shooting that occurred on Christmas day. The article did not release the name of which twin survived because the reporter informed us that all members of the Grier family had not been contacted and the family requested privacy.

I could feel anxiety and fear attacking my mind. I hope my little “Chocolate Kiss” is still alive. I loved her since we were 12 and I don’t know why I did. She is smart, kind, a little sassy with a good character. Her twin, Brielle on the other hand is quite a character. Brielle gossiped, partied, and plotted ways she swindled money out of fast men.

Brielle and Isabelle dressed well and many men pursued them. They were the top Debutantes in Atlanta. However, Brielle sought rich men who could buy Louis Vuitton, Cole Hahn, and Prada. I overheard during one of the outings with the girls. Bri advised Isabelle to find a man who adores her more than she did him so that a girl could get all of the worldly possessions that she wanted.

Brielle pretended to be a good church girl like Isabelle. But Brielle would do what she could to get attention for fast men. If a guy was interested in Isabelle, Brielle would pretend to be Isabelle to gather more men under her conquering belt.

Isaac and I double-dated the girls. Back in the day, we would visit Georgia Southern in Statesboro for Isabelle who was attending school for a teaching degree, and Savannah State University for Brielle who was going to school for a Nursing Degree. We went to their Orange Crush Parties and football game. I could hear Isabelle rebutting, “ Brielle you know that I like to be taken care of and protected but we should treat people right even the men that we date.

Brielle attracted many men but once they got to know her, many hated that they ever got to know Snow Bunny Bri. She got this nickname because she loved to ski. Bri was quite athletic but her Type A personality offended others and pushed people away once they got to know her.

Brielle married Isaac because he was very handsome and gifted. He was the head Engineer in Atlanta and took on several contracts all over the United States. Isaac spoiled Brielle while he worked as an Engineer and ran his Computer Gaming company. Isaac told me at the Christmas Party that he had a big job in Phoenix starting December 26. Brielle worked as a part-time Nurse Practitioner. Bri was always traveling with the choir as a lead singer and exploring other countries. While Icy Ike worked, Bri traveled to Paris, Italy, Rome, Aruba, Jamaica, and the Bahamas.

Ike had told me that it was never enough. He had confided in me that he suspected her of cheating. Ike doted on Brielle, but she had stolen thousands of dollars from him that he had not given her permission to take. He told me that he could feel that something wasn’t right in their relationship. Ike told me that many people came to him about Brielle. He said that Kendrick said that she had a separate cell that had a 1-800 number that men would call. He told me about weird dreams that he had.

In one dream, Isaac said he had a nightmare about being robbed. The thief had a Taliban mask, but when the police caught the robber it turned out to be Bri. He said he had this dream on Christmas Eve night. He woke up and asked Brielle about it and she said, no my Icy Pumpkin, you know that I love you.

I began to have more clear visions and images of our Christmas Party. I saw Isaac yelling at Brielle. Something had to be wrong because he treated all women well. He loved Brielle more than anyone. As I was walking by, I thought whatever Brielle had done that it must have been awful. She was such a Jezebel even though her parents had raised them properly. In High School, Brielle deceived her parents. She would leave the house dressed like a church girl, but would come to school dressed like an early Christmas gift wrapped in a bow. Isaac always came to her rescue. He would put his letterman jacket over her to cover her goods. But despite Isaac’s love, Brielle refused to change.

Icy Ike was livid. Their voices continued to rise and things got so heated that our guests began to look their way. From what I could gather, Isaac had discovered that Brielle was cheating with several men. Isaac asked, “What about your soul? You don’t want to go to Hell?” Bri fired back, “I don’t care. I am just going to be me.” I have always had second thoughts even on our wedding day.” Miss Annette had told him years ago, “If someone says they are leaving they had planned on leaving since day one”. Everyone knew that Brielle was weak-willed and full of lust. However, Isaac could only see his “Snow Bunny Bri”. Finally, on Christmas Day of all days, he finally saw the Bri that everyone else had seen since she was little.

Isaac continued, “Brielle, I know you are not going to abandon me and our children. I overheard Icy Ike tell Bri that she was cheating with Jacob Austin. Jacob was our church musician and Special Projects Manager. He was flashy. He drove a red Lexus while his wife Tammy drove their kids around in an old Tahoe that was at least 20 years old.

Tammy had called Isaac to inform him of what she had discovered. She spilled the beans on all of Jacob and Brielle’s evildoings. While Brielle and Isaac were talking, Jacob happened to come in to enjoy my house party. By then Tammy had come up to Brielle and slapped her. Next thing, I know things went from bad to worse. She yelled to Jacob, “ If you didn’t like my peaches, why did you shake my tree? We have been married for 10 years and before you pursued me, I had several suitors. Then, Timid Tammy slapped Jacob. She cried, “You are a foul piece of crap. We have four children. No wonder you were never home. And I feel ashamed that I listened to your excuses and lies. ”

Then, I remembered and heard Mother Mary warn Jacob, “Your plight will be the same as Jeroboam if you don’t repent and ask for God’s forgiveness.” She continued while pointing at Brielle. “The same goes for you, Mrs. Bri. You disappoint me. Your death will be like Jezebel's. But this is your last warning, “Repent now while salvation is at hand.” God does not want to punish you, but he is just. Because of God's love for justice, you will be punished, but he wishes all men would understand their need for him and repent.

Jacob and Brielle showed no remorse. They begin laughing at Mother Mary. You are a bald-headed, old-fashioned lady. We will be together. They embraced in front of all the guests including Isabelle and Brielle’s parents, my parents, Isaacs’ parents, and Jacob’s grandparents and parents, and all of the guests which consisted of about fifty people.

While they were mocking Isaac and Mother Mary, Lorenzo Larry stormed in. Brielle and her fake church girls friends had called Lorenzo Larry. Tammy was still telling her recap to Tatianna and Ashanti. “Last night, I came home. I just knew what to do. I walked to Jacob’s computer. He had left it on and forgot to lock his screen which he normally carefully guards his computer like a hawk.

When I clicked on his Instagram App, I saw obscene videos of pictures of Brielle and Jacob. I had a private investigator follow Jacob and he and Bri were entering a Five Star Adam’s Mark hotel together. Both of them are dirty and filthy. They are vile and living foul.” Tammy began to cry as if she was broken like a big baby.

The P.I. had pictures of them. Jacob’s Red Lexus SUV was parked next to Brielle's Silver Mercedes. Tammy was showing her the picture. She confided to Maryanne, “ I will no longer protect Jacob and we are divorcing. We had a blood covenant. Since he wants to cheat and start an illegitimate covenant with someone else, I am done with him. We will finish raising our children affably but that is it.”

Brielle boldly chided, “Jacob and my Excursion is nobody's business but ours.” She never knew that this would be her last words. As she was speaking Lorenzo Larry, also known as L.L or just L, grabbed his silver Smith and Wesson from his pocket. He held it toward Brielle and Jacob. I could feel myself running toward Isabelle and my girls were right next to Brielle. Isabelle didn’t see L.L. at first. She was packing the girls' things up and preparing to take them to the next room.

Isaac was beginning to speak to Brielle when L.L. came between them. He told Brielle to leave the keys to the Lexus truck. He told to stop pretending that she loved him. He told her I will move your things out immediately. I am disappointed because our 4 children will not grow up in the house with both of their parents. You are being selfish.”

Pastor James began to pray because our party was completely out of hand. Pastor James was a little older and didn’t notice Lorenzo.Larry. He said, “ Daughter and Son, God’s got you. We have been adopted into his kingdom. Don’t be discouraged. You will get through this. He reassured Tammy and Isaac that he was there for them. P.J. put on his leather jacket and hat and walked out.

Isabelle hated drama so much. She was packing our girls' stuff when we heard a bang. Lorenzo Larry fired a shot. Isaac grabbed onto Tammy because was almost in front of Larry. I was a good distance away because I had just added wood to the fireplace. From the fireplace, I started to sprint toward Isabelle. She asked him, “What are we going to do about our spouses' entanglement and nasty sin?” Her body began to shake once she realized that L.L. had fired a shot.

Larry was a tough guy. He bragged about his side piece and firearm but I didn’t think he would bring his gun to a Christmas Party. The house guests begin to scream. I grabbed my girls and heard another Boom. I felt a sting while I was embracing Belle. Her face was full of fear and worry. She looked so frightened. I whispered,” It is going to be okay. Belle yelled,” Rein, help us. Save the girls. Protect our family.

At that moment, she and Brielle were next to each other. I could see that one of them was bleeding because L.L. had shot them. Normally, I could tell them apart but I second-guess my instincts. Thinking that Isabelle was shot fatally. Both Belle and Bri were covered in blood. Then I begin to fade in and out. I heard the police and ambulance sirens before I passed out

I wanted for what seemed to be 100 hours. Finally, Icy Ike opened my suite door. He reported to me, “L.L. followed me when I brought you and the girls on the train. He couldn’t get to me because I have a special compartment filled with TV monitors and a video camera where I reside when the train is en route to its destination. Larry followed me because he was upset because I didn’t save Bri.

Ike began to sob. I informed the conductor about what was going on and we had to keep the train on the run until they caught Larry. He dropped a newspaper dated January 1, 2022. The headlines read, ‘Local Barber Arrested for Killing Snow Bunny Bri and Jacob Wright, Worship Leader.” Ike reassured me that everyone was okay. He reported later that someone had shot Larry while he was arrested because he was selling drugs in his barbershop. Brielle had been stealing meds from the hospital with an accomplice. Larry and Brielle had been running this drug ring for a while with high officials from the hospital which resulted in the arrest of at least 30 people, both male and female from all walks of life and of various races and ethnicities. At least 2 of Larry’s accomplices work with Ike. Don Juan and Corey Tulane were Larry’s accomplices and they were arrested, too.

Ike continued telling me that we would head back to Atlanta in the morning, once the train had restocked its supplies. Finally, we made it back to Atlanta, on January 4, 2022. I was able to reunite with my loving wife. Isabella and I met with Isaac and Tammy, we would help them to recover from the mess that happened on Christmas day. Later, I asked my Chocolate Kiss if she noticed that Tammy and Isaac were being really friendly. She told me that Tammy and Icy Ike asked about each other all time during our college days before Brielle decided she wanted Isaac.

I asked Belle if she would be okay. She said she was sad but she had did all she could do to help Brielle, but wouldn’t listen. Later Belle showed me a test that showed that she was positive. I asked if she was positive for COVID-19. She said I am positive that we will have another seat of twins. I laughed with a twinkle in my eye. “Time will tell. On November 16 our twin boys were born. We named them Kameron and Liam after their great grandfathers from both sides.
