Think before you thieve

Disgraceful

Think before you thieve 😢

I find in this day and age some callous people take the easy route to make a buck.

There was this young lady, like all pet owners devoted to her canine friend she and her pooch Frankie were inseparable. One day whilst in the garden of their home someone took advantage of Frankie's kind nature and called her over with a treat then opened the gate put a collar on and took her there and then, leaving Rosie her owner in an awful state.Rosie suffered with mental health. Frankie was by her side giving her love and hope to be able to face her fears and leave her home.

She was distraught 😫 she had just lost not only her best friend but her lifeline through one person falling into the temptation of making a quick buck without a thought for her personal issues. Rosie went into complete melt down she was doing so well then her life had just caved in by one mindless act of selfishness and greed.

After walking the streets in tears Rosie called the police, in a state of panic she took to Facebook as it’s the only way she felt she could have any chance of being reunited with her baby Frankie. The stress and strain was heartbreaking. Three months later a message pinged up on her Facebook page from a lady saying she saw a dog that fitted her description. Amazed, Rosie answered and arranged to meet the lady more hope at this time and after so long.

They agreed to meet up and the lady who wished to remain nameless was so touched by Rosie’s story and the effect it had on her she made it her own personal mission to try to find Frankie as she had suffered a similar fate with her cat Twinkle. 🐈‍⬛ Sadly she never found her.

They met and the kind lady took Rosie to the place of the siting of Frankie. As they walked past the house in question Rosie heard a bark and instantly recognised the tone. It came from the garden of a house three doors down from this lady. Rosie knocked the front door in complete hope and tears. As a lady answered the door she saw the state Rosie was in and all of a sudden Frankie ran from the garden and literally jumped in Rosie’s arms. Frankie was just as excited as Rosie. The lady invited her in and explained the whole situation. The lady thought that Frankie was a purchase as she lost her pet and suffering with mental health herself she barely went out. So when a neighbour, someone knowing her situation about her cat knocked her door saying that there was a dog for sale for £50 the lady agreed that if it had a good temperament and needing company she would take a look.

Frankie happened to be that dog. No one had given a thought for Rosie or the poor lady who bought Frankie in good faith and completely innocent.

The lady from Facebook who tracked Frankie down was amazing, all three suffering with mental health issues. The lady gladly handed Frankie back to Rosie - they were reunited at long last. Frankie even offered to reimburse the lady’s £50 but she would have none of it. Just because someone looks ok on the outside it doesn’t mean that all is well on the inside for a £50 fix for a cruel thief.

All ended well in the end thankfully, with Rosie being reunited with Frankie. Please see my poem below

Thank you…

‘Return Our Dogs 2021’

You are worse than Scum

Just manure under your shoe

If you knew the heartfelt impact

Of stealing ‘Dogs for you’

Dogs are like peoples’ babies

A friend for life indeed

Especially through this lockdown

Not for your eternal greed

Think of something else

Don't steal from your own

You steal a pet from it’s home

You have no morals atone

You break the hearts of many

With a target that is easy

A dog’s for life not Christmas

A buck for you it’s easy

Well please give a thought to your victims

It doesn’t matter about their wealth

They may be simply hanging on to life

Due to mental health !
