The Woman Who Tortured And Murdered A Disabled Man, Angela Simpson
Thinking that Terry Neely was a police informant, Angela Simpson cruelly abused him for three days in August of 2009.

Angela Simpson, one of the most infamous murderers in Arizona history, tortured, murdered, and mutilated a disabled man because she thought he could serve as a “snitch” for the authorities.
The vicious murder was discovered by Phoenix police in August 2009. Officers responded to a complaint of a burning household garbage can and found human remains inside. Based on fingerprint analysis, the bones were identified as Terry Neely’s, who lived in a nearby assisted-living home.
After the horrifying discovery, Simpson, who was already in prison for another crime, confessed to murdering Neely.
A Cold-Blooded Murderer
Born on November 29, 1975, Angela Simpson has stated that she has battled mental illness for a long time, starting at the age of 10. It is also said that she started doing drugs at a young age. She eventually had four children as an adult, but she does not talk about them.
There is little information regarding Simpson’s life other than the crime she committed.
August 2, 2009 was the start of the crime, just after Terry Neely, 46, left in his wheelchair from his assisted-living facility. He was enticed into an apartment shortly later by Angela Simpson, 33, whom he seemed to be acquainted with.
Simpson promised to provide Neely “sex and drugs” if he went into the flat with her. Rather, she started tormenting him viciously.
Simpson struck Neely with a tire iron, stabbed him at least fifty times with various knives, drove a three-inch nail into his skull, and took out his teeth over the course of three days. Simpson also positioned a mirror directly in front of her victim, forcing him to witness his own suffering. “He needed to see what he deserved,” she said.
Neely was eventually killed in the same apartment by Simpson after she cut his throat and strangled him with a television wire. In an effort to hide the murder, she then dismembered her victim and threw the pieces into a neighboring household garbage can, setting it on fire.
How She Was Captured
Angela Simpson was unaware that Terry Neely’s assisted-care facility had reported him missing after realizing he was no longer there. Also, her intention to burn Neely’s remains failed when, on August 5, the fire department arrived at the garbage can in time to retrieve the body pieces.
The remains’ fingerprints tested positive for the missing Neely, and authorities promptly began a murder investigation.
A few days later, Neely’s wheelchair was found close to the residence of Simpson’s known partner Edward McFarland, 36. The San Diego Union-Tribune reports that when detectives examined another apartment that Simpson and McFarland were known to frequent, they found blood traces inside that matched Neely’s.
Along with that, a witness told authorities that he had previously observed smoke coming from that flat. He discovered a City of Phoenix garbage can in the kitchen after looking into it. According to the same witness, Simpson admitted to killing Neely and threatened to kill the witness if he reported her. Simpson and McFarland requested to take his car.
Simpson and McFarland were already in prison on unrelated charges of armed robbery when they were interrogated by police. Simpson freely admitted to murdering Neely on August 18. She would eventually become known for her motivation — and seeming lack of guilt.
Angela Simpson’s Confession
Terry Neely was a “snitch,” according to Angela Simpson, who also used the argument that he “told on a righteous person years ago… He told me that.” However, Neely’s record as an informant and “telling” on people was nonexistent according to the Phoenix Police Department.
Simpson persisted in saying that Neely was a snitch and that he received “what he deserved.” She claimed she simply regretted not being able to get rid of any more snitches and showed no regret for her actions.
Shortly after her arrest in 2009, Simpson justified her heinous deeds to the world by saying, “I don’t want my children or the people I consider family to be in a place where there are snitches. I think informants and child molesters should be killed… period.”
On March 22, 2012, Simpson entered a guilty plea to first-degree murder. She was eventually given a life sentence in jail along with an extra 14 years for other offenses. (In that time, McFarland, her reported accomplice, was charged with felony counts of concealing a dead body and delaying prosecution.)
Angela Simpson stated she didn’t mind receiving a life sentence in an interview on the day of her 2012 sentencing: “You know I’ve got a lot of family in jail… That’s OK with me. Many of my sisters are arrested. I am eager to see them. Being told to live my entire life with my family is really not that bad of a punishment.”
In response to the question of whether she would kill again, she said, “If the opportunity arises, I hope so.”
In 2021, an audio clip from one of Simpson’s interviews in prison also gained popularity on TikTok.
Newsweek claims that several users lip-synced this statement from Simpson: “He told me he was a snitch, on many occasions. I don’t know why the media acts like the motherf**ker couldn’t walk; he walked really well. I took him to my house and walked him down the street. walked him upstairs, and murdered him.” After this audio recording, a man asks, “Do you think he really was a snitch?” to which Simpson responds, “Oops if he wasn’t. Really, I think he was.”
