Taylor Schabusiness: The Green Bay Mutilator Inspired by Jeffrey Dahmer
This troubled young woman committed unspeakable acts of violence against her boyfriend in pursuit of a twisted thrill.

The horror began in a manner straight out of a nightmare: Tara, a mother in Green Bay, Wisconsin, went to her basement to check if her son had returned home. Instead of finding her son, she discovered a black bucket near the stairs, covered by a towel. Curious and confused, she lifted the towel — and uncovered the severed head of her son.
Who Was the Green Bay Mutilator?
Born Taylor Coronado on November 23, 1997, in Chicago, she seemed like an ordinary child, enjoying volleyball and living a relatively stable life. However, her world began to crumble after the sudden death of her mother, Marla, in 2009, when Taylor was just 11 years old.
The loss marked the start of her downward spiral. Taylor began acting out in school, which led to her receiving mental health treatment in seventh grade. Though prescribed medication, she quickly stopped taking it.
In high school, Taylor dated Shad Thyrion, a relationship that lasted about two years. However, her behavioral issues worsened, culminating in her expulsion for fighting. She temporarily moved in with her grandparents in Texas before returning to her father’s home.
The Decline of Taylor Schabusiness
As an adult, Taylor married Warren Schabow in 2018 and adopted his last name, becoming Taylor Schabusiness. Over the years, she racked up multiple criminal charges, including armed burglary, theft, and domestic abuse.
Both Taylor and Warren were heavy methamphetamine users. By the age of 22, Taylor’s meth addiction had escalated to using the drug up to 10 times a day.
Her erratic behavior caught the attention of law enforcement. In one instance, she roamed the streets, banging on neighbors’ doors and telling police she was “on another planet.” She attacked an officer attempting to stop her from walking into traffic and was briefly detained before being released on bail.
Another incident involved a high-speed police chase, during which she abandoned her car and fled on foot. When officers searched the vehicle, they found methamphetamine and syringes.
Taylor’s chaotic lifestyle continued, and in 2021, she gave birth to a child. The baby was eventually placed in the care of her grandparents. Meanwhile, Taylor’s erratic social media activity reflected her growing obsession with serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer, posting unsettling searches and selfies featuring his image.
A Night of Horror
On February 22, 2022, Taylor reconnected with her former boyfriend, Shad Thyrion. That evening, Taylor, Shad, and others spent time together, consuming drugs and hanging out. As the night progressed, Taylor and Shad returned to his mother’s home and went to the basement.
Unbeknownst to Shad’s mother, Tara, the night would take a gruesome turn. Around 2:30 a.m., Tara awoke during a storm and noticed the basement light was still on. Assuming her son had left it on, she went downstairs and made the horrific discovery of her son’s severed head in a bucket.
A Shocking Crime
When police arrived, they found blood and human remains scattered throughout the basement. Tara informed them that her son had been with Taylor that night, leading officers to Taylor’s apartment. Inside her van, they discovered a crockpot, which, they would later learn, contained Shad’s severed leg and thighs.
Taylor initially blamed the police’s presence on her removal of a court-ordered ankle monitor. However, during her interviews, she admitted to choking Shad during a sexual encounter. She described feeling “excited” as he struggled to breathe. After his death, she dismembered his body using kitchen knives, placing various parts in containers throughout the house.
Taylor expressed no remorse, telling officers they’d “have fun trying to find all the organs.”
The Trial and Sentencing

Taylor faced charges of first-degree murder, sexual assault, and mutilation of a corpse. Though her defense argued she was mentally unfit due to bipolar disorder and drug use, state psychologists testified that her actions did not meet the criteria for an insanity defense under Wisconsin law.
After a brief trial in July 2023, Taylor was found guilty on all counts. She was sentenced to life in prison without parole, ensuring she would never harm another person again.
This tragic case underscores the devastating consequences of unchecked addiction and untreated mental illness, as well as the horrors that can arise from a life of spiraling violence and obsession.
