Room Number 4004..
23rd January 1978 , San Francisco
A dead body was found in room 4004 of the Palace Hotel. The police arrived shortly after receiving the news .They saw that there was no sign of injury on the dead body. The police officer in charge at that time was Inspector James Wilson . Mr. Wilson went to the hotel and looked in the room where the body was found but did not find anything of use . However, they found a box of nitroglycerin tablets next to the dead body, and a packet of Eszopiclone (Lunesta) tablets. But he didn’t find any clue in the entire room that someone had come here and committed murder.
However, there was something written on the body in the form of a code which was something like this
(988894100817495781009388100778278 )
8388847891
Mr. Wilson took a picture of this code. But he could not understand its meaning. Then the dead body was sent to forensics. The police immediately started working on this case. But they could not find any clue where to start.
After a while, Mr. Wilson called the staff member who had first seen the dead body. His name was Gibbs. He was asked, "How did you know there was a dead body?"
Gibbs replied, "Sir, I didn't really know anything. I was called by the reception because I was on duty on the 4th floor. I was told that there was a problem in room number 4004 and I should take a look. I knocked on the door and saw that it was open. Then I saw Professor MacLaren lying down. I called him several times but I was not getting any response. So I went to him and saw that he was not breathing. Then I touched his body and felt that his body was cold. I then called the reception and they sent someone and the hotel medical team came and declared him dead."
After hearing his statement, Mr. Wilson started questioning the reception staff and was told, "How did he get the news that there was a problem in room number 4004?"
The receptionist replied, "He received a call from an unknown number and said one thing, there was a problem in room number 4004, then he hung up. And I immediately informed Gibbs, the staff in charge of that floor, and everyone knows what happened after that, sir."
Mr. Wilson now has three questions running through his mind:
1. Why was Professor MacLaren murdered?
2. And who made the phone call?
3. And what does this code mean?
In the midst of all this, after two days the report came from the forensics and his death was basically due to a heart attack and only the fingerprints of the hotel staff Gibbs were found on his body but the inspector was not happy with this report.
Then he again met the forensic in-charge Jack Sullivan and then the dead body was subjected to more specialized tests, and it was then discovered that although he died of a heart attack, that heart attack was caused by someone deliberately injecting carbon monoxide gas into his blood. The inspector also learned that the presence of Eszopiclone (Lunesta) was also found in the dead body.Forensic in-charge Jack Sullivan said that carbon monoxide gas binds to hemoglobin in the blood, blocking the transport of oxygen in the blood and becomes toxic, which can also lead to death and Eszopiclone (Lunesta) is a sleeping pill. Then the inspector got a clue and that was that this was a well-planned murder and the murderer has knowledge about chemistry and biology . Dr. Rowan MacLaren is a Professor of Biochemistry and Biophysics at Stockholm University. But one thing the inspector could not understand was why the professor was killed? Then the pressure comes on the inspector to solve this case quickly.
The inspector meets his friend Peter Johnson to solve the code. Peter is a history teacher by profession but he has a lot of knowledge on symbolism and he has helped Mr. Wilson before.
Mr. Wilson shows Peter a picture of the code and says, "What is the decoding of this?" Peter says, "I need to give it time to solve it."
Exactly two days later, Peter calls Mr. Wilson and says, "Come to my chamber."
Mr. Wilson quickly went there and saw that Peter had solved the puzzle. Then Mr. Wilson said to Peter, "How are you sure that this is the solution?"
Peter said, "Look, there are a total of 33 digits at the top and 10 at the bottom. If we calculate the text below as a word, there are now five letters because the first digits of every two consecutive digits are almost all within a close range. And having five letters means 2 digits for each letter .If you look at the above, you will see that the total number is odd, so there is no possibility of a word here, it is a sentence. Another thing to note is that the number 100 is there three times, which means that this number has a special meaning .If we go to match two digits by two, we will see that this 100 means space, so the value of each character is any two digits below 100 and its decoding is ,
You have to die.
Joker
Then Mr. Wilson saw this and realized that this Joker was involved in the murder.
Inspector is sleeping at night. Suddenly, late at night, a call comes from the other side of the phone, "Hello Inspector James Wilson, I know you are very stressed about this murder case, but let me tell you something, the person who was murdered was not a good person and the sooner you close this case, the better, and my name is Joker." He hangs up.
In the morning, a letter arrives at the inspector's house from an unknown address. Opening the letter, the inspector sees that it is written that, the person who was murdered is a university teacher and a researcher, but as a person he is very self-centered, selfish and ambitious. He was doing research on fuel, but the worst thing was that an innocent African black man was killed for his research work. If you want to know more about this, come to "Golden Gate Park" tomorrow at 5:00 pm and I will tell you everything there.
Golden Gate Park is 5:00 p.m.
The inspector arrived at Golden Gate Park and saw a man wearing a Joker mask coming towards him and approached him and said, "Hello Inspector, I've been waiting for you here, I'm the Joker. You came here to find out the details of the letter from yesterday, but you have made one small mistake and that is that you have the recorder on. If you please turn it off, then I can tell you the details.”
Inspector James turned off the device without any other choice. Then Joker said that “ I am the professor's student and the professor killed him for his research, his name is Tafadzwa Moyo, who is my closest friend. We both took IELTS from Zimbabwe and got a scholarship to Stockholm University. However, among the many PhD students of Professor MacLaren, only Tafadzwa Moyo was black. The biggest thing is that the professor also had a dark side and that is that he had discovered the formula for making micro-fuel by extracting Indole ( C8H7N ) from Eumelanin. The fuel is very expensive and effective and can be used as an alternative to nuclear fuel in the future. But the problem is that Eumelanin is only found in large quantities in the bodies of black people. So to collect that Eumelanin, many black people will have to be killed, which is a crime against humanity. When I found out about this, I started planning how to stop the professor from doing this. So, I first destroyed all the documents on the professor's laptop, which the professor realized and realized that someone might have known about his evil deeds. That's why he came to San Francisco for a vacation, but I also came here to follow him, and that day I mixed the sleeping pill Eszopiclone in his coffee, I selected the medicine in such a way that the medicine would be absorbed into the body within 6 hours. But the funny thing is that he didn't drink that coffee at the cafe, he was bringing it in a parcel to the hotel room and when he was paying his bill, I saw 4004 written on the room key. Then I joined the cleaning team and entered the hotel after somewhile took the opportunity to go in front of room number 4004 of the hotel. I knocked on the professor's door and he opened it. I entered and saw that the professor had not yet had his coffee. I asked him if I would throw away the coffee. He said no, and he took a sip of his coffee and after a while the professor lay down on the bed. Then I injected a syringe of carbon monoxide gas that I had previously taken into his body, then cleaned everything and left the room. I left a packet of Nitroglycerin and sleeping pills next to his body. I did not regret this murder at all, I know I did the right thing." Saying this, the Joker left.
Then the inspector sits for a while and decides to close the case, saying that the professor died of a heart attack after taking an overdose of sleeping pills.
Then the case is closed.
