RF: Seasoned Citizen Puts her Principals First to Stop a Thief!

Times are weird. There’s a war going on outside of America’s borders. Inflation is on the rise. The stock market’s doing its roller coaster ride, and there is of course Wordle to help distract us from all these depressing topics.

In a short clip, a seasoned citizen rose to heroism when she unmasked (a full ski mask, mind you) a male attempting to steal from a grocery store.

Just as he began to leave, the woman blocked his exit with her cart. Awkwardly, the suspect dragged his own cart with items from the store and pushed his bicycle.

What was he planning to do? Tie the cart to the bike, and be on his merry, thieving way? The woman showed no fear as she tore the mask off his face. After a brief exchange of expletives, the woman conquered the miscreant. With the aid of a store employee, she was able to go about her business, and the would-be thief left the goods in the store. He grabbed his bag, and shuffled off under his ten speed Tesla.

The employee recording the video actually first engaged the suspect, but when the elder citizen got involved, she showed the full power of standing up to evil. She knew in her mind just how important it was to start the justice process on her own.

As she stopped the man from leaving with the loot, she knew all she had to do was the right thing. In this case, she was fortunate the male brandished no weapon. Even then, she probably would have risked being shot or stabbed to protect her own rationally selfish honor. The grocery goods came second. Her courage was on the line. She was like a warrior princess defeating a foe who trespassed against law and order.

For her to take the mask off of him was a revelation. She displayed not timidity, but strength; she showed how even in advanced age, chutzpah can go be doled out in full measure. The guy didn’t have a chance against her. Built up inside her were years of knowledge and wisdom and spunk. She addressed her problem with verve. Her mind drove her to commit to the demand of neutralizing the situation. As the cart wedged between the doorway, she asked no questions and just went into full protective mode. What was she safeguarding? Righteousness. She knew what she did consisted of no fear and excellent character made visible by her actions.

If the male had been able to flee the store with the goods in tow, then it would have been a sad case for justice but this woman would have none of this way of doing things. In the future, the suspect may be deterred from ever committing a crime again. Through this speculation, what remains true is the fact this woman deserves every laurel and award for her efforts.

She probably wouldn’t even accept the honors. She might just be satisfied with the notion of how she triumphed over evil. When she goes to bed at night, she may sleep well knowing she did what sat well with her judgment.

The morality she demonstrated made her a virtuous being. She found within herself a reserve of considerable fortitude. As the video will be etched forevermore in the annals of Internet glory, she will forever be remembered for her self-interested actions.

If the coward with the bicycle and the poor morality ever shows his face again, it will give him pause to ever confront a seasoned citizen with a penchant for snatching off masks.

It’s something undeniable: when you see wrong, do what is right.
