Dr. David and his family had been living in the bustling city of Camelin for years. David had established his reputation as a brilliant surgeon, his wife Sarah was an accomplished lawyer, and their two children, Emma and Matthew, were attending prestigious schools. They lived in a beautiful home in the heart of the city, a place that was usually considered safe.
Recently, however, their peace has been shattered by a series of horrific murders that have terrorized the city. The victims were all young women, most of whom were found mutilated and half-eaten. The media dubbed the killer the "Dark Jackal," but no one had the slightest idea who he was. The police were working around the clock but had made no headway in the case.
David was an anxious man. He knew the killer was still out there, ready to strike at any moment. He installed high-tech his security his system in his home, especially when he left the house at night. told his family to be careful. He didn't want to take any chances. However, no matter how hard he tried, he could not shake off the fear that the killer would reach his family.
One evening, David receives an urgent phone call from the hospital. A patient needed emergency surgery and he was the only available doctor. He didn't want to leave his family alone, but he had no choice. He kissed Sarah and the children goodbye and promised to return soon.
An inexplicable shudder ran down David's spine as he walked down a deserted street toward the hospital. He looked over his shoulder and saw someone chasing him. He quickened his pace, but so did the other person. Suddenly, David felt something sharp press against his back, and he heard a voice whisper in his ear, “Don't scream. You're coming with me.”
David was overcome with fear, and he blacked out.
When he regained consciousness, he found himself in a dark, dingy room. He couldn't move and was tied to the wall. From his point of view, he could see the room covered in blood and human corpses mutilated. The killer was in front of him, and he knew that he feared for his life. As the killer approached him, David saw something in his eyes, something that he would never forget. The killer's face was familiar and it took David a while to place it. It was none other than him.
David was stunned. he couldn't believe it. How could he have become a cannibal serial killer? He had no recollection of killing anyone, let alone cannibalizing his victims.
The killer approaches him with a knife and begins to torture him, revealing the dark truth of his secret alter ego that the stress of being a doctor had awakened. David was shocked to learn that he had been responsible for the gruesome murders all along. He was devastated!
As he hung there, David knew that his family was in danger, and he had to save them. He mustered all his strength to break free from the bondage and run away driven by an insurmountable guilt.
David stumbles as he emerges from the hideous room to see dawn breaking in the city. It was quiet and there was no hint of a killer. He ran to his house and went inside. He finds Sarah and her children still alive and well in bed.
David knelt by their bed and breathed a tearful sigh of relief. They lived! But David knew he would forever carry the terrifying memories of his double life and the horrors he caused.
