EPILOGUE

"Please, don't!" The terrified woman pleaded.

"Little does she know; her cries give me life." I thought.

"Keep screaming!" I laughed.

I stabbed her in the stomach. The knife cut through her flesh like butter. I stabbed her in the chest. This cut wasn't as easy. I had to apply force to get through the rib cage. She is no longer screaming. There is no more crying. There is just gurgling. Bubbles of blood come from her chest.

"I pierced a lung." I said to myself.

Now to leave my signature, a deep cut from ear to ear. I like to cut them to near decapitation, it is my calling card. This woman is now dead. My job is done, so I take out my camera. I must commemorate these events.

"Victim number 31." I whispered as I put my camera back into my pocket. I pulled my hood back up and casually walked out of the alley.

"BEEP, BEEP, BEEP!" The alarm sounds.

It's 5 am, another day. My routine is the same every day. I am a creature of habit:

5:00am - get out of bed

5:10am - walk the dog

6:00 am - shower

6:25am - get dressed

6:45 am - make and drink coffee

7:00 am - leave for work

I pull into the same parking space every day.

"Hey Mr. Joe!" some random person shouts. I give a quick smile and wave back.

"Good morning students and staff and welcome to another great day at Shiny Side Elementary School." The school announcements began. I drown them out with thoughts of my last fresh kill. I close my eyes and I can hear the screams.

"Rrrriiiinnnggggg!" The bell signaling the start of class snaps me quickly back to reality.

"Good morning students! Who is ready to learn some shapes?' I asked excitedly. Children are so oblivious. They are so easily distracted and entertained.

Parent teacher conferences are tonight. I can barely contain myself. The halls are teeming with possible victims. No one knows who will be next to satisfy my bloodlust.

"Excuse me sir, can you help me find the west wing parking lot? I seem to have gotten turned around somehow." A woman asked.

"Of course!" I say with a smile. "It's already dark out, good thing I'm here to walk with you." I continued.

"BINGO!" I thought to myself. I walked behind her, my hand already reaching for my knife. Victim number 32.

We reach her car. She turns to thank me. My knife is already in the air. Straight down into her chest, I stabbed her with so much force that the knife handle seemed to go into her flesh like the blade. The knife got stuck. The surprise turned to fear then horror on her face. This excited me. Watching the blood spill from her open mouth made me giddy. I had to take my picture quickly so that I can get back to my classroom. I have one more parent to see. I make it back to my classroom quickly and quietly, no one's the wiser. My contentment becomes panic.

I didn't cut her throat! It is my calling card. How will they know it was me, the Shiny Side Slasher? That's such a stupid name though." I thought "Do I go back to the scene of the crime? I would risk being seen. They can't catch me. I am far too clever and organized. They will always be a step behind me."

My classroom door opens. A man is standing there.

"Must be my last parent." I thought. I stood up to extend my hand for a handshake.

"BOOM!" One bullet through the right eye.

"I know who you are and what you have been doing." the man said. He closed the door and walked away leaving me lifeless and bleeding. How ironic, I ended up the same way my victims did...
