In response to Ukraine's 'terrorist attack' on the Crimean Bridge, Russia promises vengeance.
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, Russian soldiers also shot down several Ukrainian drones that were aiming for the peninsula.
Following an alleged attack on the Crimean Bridge, which crosses the Kerch Strait to connect the Russian mainland with the Crimean peninsula, a piece of the road can be seen torn in two and sloping to one side from a train window.
The Crimean Bridge, which connects the seized Peninsula with Russia, has reportedly been targeted by Ukraine, according to the government of Moscow. Smoke can be seen rising close to the building in a social media video. The missile strike, according to Russian authorities, was repulsed, and they have threatened retaliation. Recall that in 2014, Russia forcibly annexed the Crimean Peninsula. Since Russia invaded Ukraine, there have already been two strikes that have damaged the Kirch Bridge.
Indeed, as of late, we have observed that the Ukrainian Defenders are making an effort to cut the logistical ties that bind the various elements of Russia's occupying force in the annexed Crimea, as well as in Carson and the south of Ukraine. They have attempted to assault bridges that connect the occupied Crimean Peninsula to the Ukrainian mainland in addition to attacking the Crimean Bridge specifically for this purpose. All of this is an effort to break the logistical connections between the various Russian military units and the occupied Ukraine in order to make it harder to keep these territories under Russian control.
In a message posted on the messaging app Telegram, ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated, "There can be no justification for such barbaric actions and they will not go unanswered."
The 12-mile (19-kilometer) bridge that connects Russia's annexation of Crimea to its mainland across the Kerch Strait was earlier the target of an attack by Ukrainian rockets, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.
Such strikes undoubtedly obviously have a psychological impact on Russian military officials as well as Russian citizens who continue to travel to Crimea to participate in this unlawful takeover during their summer vacations.
Berlin would be making a huge move with this. As was the case earlier this year when Germany was debating whether or not to give Ukraine Panther tanks, the transfer was first requested by the Ukrainian government in May. The German Chancery's decision-making procedure was not very transparent, and it took a very long time. However, it appears that a favorable decision is getting closer, and that would go well with the cruise missiles that the UK and France have already given to Ukraine's Air Force, which they are using to target command centers, fuel and ammunition depots, and logistical hubs in occupied Ukraine, provided that they are not used on Russian soil.
The ministry reported that a number of Ukrainian drones aimed at the peninsula had also been shot down by Russian forces.
One of the earliest casualties of Russia's first foreskin invasion last year was the city of Kupiansk. The city was eventually freed by Ukraine's Defenders, who also found evidence of widespread rape, murder, and torture as well as torture chambers. We observe that the Russian soldiers are once more slowly advancing toward the city. But this is closely related to what is happening in southeast Ukraine. The advancement of the Russian troops in Kupiansk, in my opinion, is an effort to compel Ukraine to reposition its forces in order to strengthen the defense of Kupiansk and diminish its offensive momentum in the southeast. Ukraine's armed forces are making gains in this upper regional oblast. However, if Ukraine's military forces can keep up with the speed of both of these operations, I believe there are some encouraging signals that strategic advancements are being made in the south, which would put Ukraine in a position by the end of the year to control significant portions of southern Ukraine.
