Secret Obsession

Are you a thrill seeker? Like not knowing what's going to happen next in a movie? Then this is the recommendation for you!

The Secret Obsession follows a woman's journey after a traumatic stalking incident. Jennifer is lucky to be alive, and even luckier to keep surviving. After being hit by a car, she suffers from extreme amnesia, only having faint memories of her marriage and the incidents leading up to her arrival to the hospital.

As Jennifer receives life-saving surgery, her husband awaits good news in the hospital waiting room, dire agony paining him as he does. When he is finally able to go see her, he is overwhelmed with relief, even though she is not yet conscious.

While she is recovering from her surgery, detectives talk to her husband to figure out what could have possibly happened to her. Her husband explains that she went out for groceries, but never came back which is when he was concerned about her whereabouts. Detectives have no leads, but reassure him that they will look into the incident and start with her missing vehicle.

After she wakes up, Jennifer realizes she cannot remember much of her life before the accident, including the death of her parents. Jennifer quickly discovers that she has a long journey ahead of her for recovery, but her husband is making sure she knows he will always be by her side. Her wonderful and doting husband makes sure she is well taken care of - from cooking to helping her shower and everything in between.

As the detective tries to find answers, he receives a tip from a reliable source, who later disappears. The detective becomes increasingly suspicious and agitated as he finds inconsistencies in what he's being told, and Jennifer's husband quickly finds himself as the prime suspect.

So who almost killed Jennifer? Guess you'll have to find out if you haven't already by watching this thriller on Netflix ;)

But that brings me to my recommendation for those who have watched Secret Obsession: The Invisible Man.

The Invisible Man

This thriller focuses on a woman abused escaping her abuser. Cecilia is barely able to escape into the darkness of the night, leaving behind what felt like a captor, but bringing her trauma along with her.

After escaping, she finds herself hiding from the world, not wanting to leave a trace for her ex to find her. Cecilia is not even able to have her relationship with her sister because she didn't want to put her at risk.

However, that changes when her sister comes to where she was staying to break news that her estranged ex had committed suicide, soon discovering that he had left his fortune to her in his wake. Suspicious, she finds herself questioning herself and everything around her. She soon starts experiencing a series of coincidences that turn lethal that make her question if his death was real or a hoax.

In desperation, she pleads with the people around her that she is not alone and being stalked by her ex, Adrien. However, due to her history with mental health, everyone chalked it up to her losing a grip on reality due to her trauma and grief.

After the invisible man tries to go after the people she loves, Cecilia has to take things into her own hands. She uses the invisible man's actions to her advantage, manipulating him into taking the actions she needs to prove herself right. In this terrifying thriller, you'll find yourself on the edge of your seat as a woman desperatley clings to the hope that her grip on reality is in tact, and that she is just being tormented after her escape.
