Dangerous Crazy Drunken Night
Brought to you by: A True Story Near You

Insane Story! This took place in November of 2017. So let's start from the beginning-before this happened. So the night before this I was heartbroken and wanted to drink my feelings away and just escape from the world. So I went to Applebee's and drank 4-5 of their MUCHO long islands as one does of course! Had the time of my life blocking out my surroundings and watched either Supernatural, Friends, or New Girl on my head phones. All I had to eat was chips and dip. Safe to say I was turnt up! After I chug the last bit of my 5th drink; I pay the bill, and proceed to leave.
I lived not even a mile away from this said Applebee's. I start driving and about half way there, I realize I am way to drunk to drive so I decide to be responsible and pull over and just sleep away the drunkenness. Then head home when I wake up. Reminder, I was only five minutes away from home but I still didn't want to risk something bad happening. (I know, right). So I pulled into a nice neighborhood with some very nice expensive houses. I could guesstimate about 1 million dollar houses-just to give you an idea about what kind of area I was in. I was not in a bad part of town at all.
So I wake up hours later FREEZING, car dead, phone dead on 2% so it dies very quickly and its 3AM. So for some reason I decide to knock on some houses to maybe get some help but nobody answers. So then my next thought is that I will just walk home and deal with this the next day. So I walk back to the car to grab my purse, phone, keys, charger-all that good stuff and of course the door is locked! What do I do!? I decided not to walk home because she was known for never being at home so I wasn't even sure if I walked all that way if I would even be able to get into my apartment. So then I decide, 'You know what, I'll just walk to that Wal-Mart across the street and wait till morning and call my mom to come rescue me.' So I walk to the Wal-Mart hung over as shit, hungry and cold and wait till about 7-8AM to call my mom. So I call my mother and she doesn't answer even after many phone calls.
So now what? Everything is locked in my car. My wallet, cash, ID, social security card, charger-literally everything is locked in my car. So I can't buy a charger to be able to charge my phone to call someone else for help. The very nice Wal-Mart ladies are seeing if their chargers will fit my phone and none of them do. So now, I'm thinking, "Well fuck, I only have two numbers memorized and my mother isn't answering...." So I take some time to contemplate what I shall do next. Now, the only other phone number I have memorized is my father, whom I don't have a relationship with nor spoken to in years at that point. (That's a whole other story).
I decide to buckle down and make the phone call. He answers at the second attempted phone call and I just bullet point it for him because that's what he likes and always wants the full truth. "Hey, its me. Look I am in a pickle and need some help. I intentionally got really drunk last night cause I'm going through some stuff. Decided to drive home realized that I was too drunk to drive, pulled over. Woke up and I guess I left the car on because I was drunk cause when I woke up the car was dead, out of gas, my phone dead. Then I accidentally locked everything in my car-cash, card, charger-everything. I've tried to call mom for some help and she's not answering, and I only have two numbers memorized so I was wondering if you could call mom and tell her where I am so I can get some help? So he agrees and gets all my information that he needs to get this problem fixed and about fifteen minutes later I get a call for my mom and help is on the way within an hour!
Great, right!? Things are working out! Well.....think again....its not over yet.
So my step dad comes to pick me up, gets gas to put in my car and head down the street to where I am parked. We pull up and there is a cop car behind my car. "Ohhhhhh noooooooo" I say. "That's not YOUR car is it!?", he asks. I put my head down in exhaustion because it is indeed my car. We don't even see the damage until we pull further up.
The roof of my car was ICE PICKED IN, back window smashed as you can see and my keys are gone! We soon find out that whomever did this didn't even touch my purse. Everything was still in there. ID, wallet, $100 cash, social......everything...... So what were they doing? Did I piss someone off driving home and I just don't remember it? Did someone see me at Applebee's that had as vendetta against me and decide to take action? Why did this happen??
So the cop informs us that actually for the past two weeks there have been non stop house break-ins on this very street. So what he thinks happened was that someone saw my keys inside the car, and thinking that the owner of those keys lived in one of these lavish houses and decided that it was the perfect opportunity. We ended up finding my keys at the doorstep a few houses down. So that added up, I wasn't even the target-the houses were. I just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
But a few things got me thinking...because my car wasn't even left by itself for 3 hours. So it had to have happened between that time....or did it? Remember when I told you earlier the reason why I woke up was because I was freezing! Well what if the reason I was freezing was because the back window was smashed in letting all the cold air in and I was just so drunk that I didn't even wake up.....Or someone saw me after waking up and being locked out of my car and just waited till I walked away to break in. Which means a few things. If someone smashed the window while I was in the car....things could have gone badly, so quickly. The things they could have done to me.
What if they just waited for me to get out of the car and walk up to one of the houses and they would have run up behind me to break in? Either way it could have ended so much worse its just scary to think about. Another question that I just don't really understand. If this happened when I wasn't in the car why didn't they just smash the driver or passenger window? That sounds like a much simpler way to get the keys. Instead they smashed the window that is furthest from the keys.....That just doesn't make sense to me. Also, why did they pick-ax the roof of the car ten times? What was the purpose of that?
Anyway, that is my story. A story that the many questions and no answers kind of haunts me. What really happened that night and why? What do you think happened that fateful night?
