The story behind the barter

It was a cool rainy windy day when we came up with the idea. Online currency. Something that could be accepted as a universal online source of payment. A barter tool that people would invest in for trading back and forth. Something we could grow our assets and after we had enough people invest, we could back out from the market, and disappear. It was the only solution so we could consolidate our debts and come out on top.
Investing in the stock market had put us down when it crashed. We decided that if we could make people invest in something new, in us, that we could make a win win. Having had got our foot in the door the last couple of years before the last crash gave us some leverage. We had made the plan of who we would join teams with. After all, who wouldn't accept an online form of payment and trading? It was a two for one deal and we couldn't see a negative outcome if it went accordingly.
It was the best thing that Ishmiel and I could give the ever evolving online innerweb community. The people who needed discreet forms of payment for drugs, under the table deals, and something quick and easy. It was convenient, and for the people who had the money, affordable. It was like a gamble but their odds were greater even though we will be cheating the game. They could invest in and we had decided how we woud tweak the system after releasing it into the general public so we could pull out from it completely and live under the radar freely traveling the world, but people would still use it. Because a bigger, better, and more wealthy investor would buy it from us and we could sneak back in, whenever.
The plan was completely solidified after months of sleepless nights of work after brainstorming. Ishmiel did the leg work with the other guys minus getting the patent. I d was programming the software and the coding for the web. It was an endless effort, but the results were to reap many benefits that would reap beyond belief saying that everything went accordingly to our well detailed oriented plans we had been working on for almost a year.
It had better being that with many sleepless nights came many pounding headaches, and a couple of times I alone almost put my hands up and said, "I give up." I didn't give up though, I kept trying. Now I was finally confident and ready. I was positive it would be the best thing introduced into the stock market for a while ever since the economy was hurting there was a handful of people just waiting and anticipating and hoping for something else. Something better, and something that would give them hope. This was it. This was our golden ticket.
Having invested more than we owed to secure everything we worked on and making sure we were teaming up with only the best of the best we were finally on top of our game. The only challenge we faced was how long we had before we backed out. It was unpredictable without having the ball rolling live in the market. We had already did a rough estimation of what we could profit before we backed out. The only thing that we could hope is that it went accordingly or even more preferably, better than what we planned for.
Ishmiel had talking with twenty of the most important online investors, interweb, ICANN database workers, experts, owners of paypal, and other online businesses, for the logistics so we could formulate our game plan and get cryptocurrency out there as fast as possible now that I was done with my job. I had gotten a patent for the software last week. It was safe, it was secured and now it was mine by law and no one else could touch it or copy it as soon as it was released. Luckily if anyone else had come up with the idea or something similar we had beat them to it. completely. It was our game until we backed out.
Billions...Picking up my keys and my backpack as I walked out the condo room I dialed Ishmiels number. It went straight to his voicemail as I got on my bike. Deciding I would show up anyways I turned the keys in my ignition and opened my garage before backing out from my driveway. I hoped he was okay and I expected he would be there because of the plans we had made earlier this week.
Pulling up outside his apartment three blocks down I took my helmet off and left it on my seat. I walked up to the door and rang the doorbell as I tried calling him again. Noticing all the lights were off despite his car being in the driveway I paused. What? I rang the doorbell and listened while the phone went to his voicemail again. Why?
Maybe he had a girl over from the bar. Wouldn't surprise me after all he had mentioned he was gonna get some drinks after he got back from the meeting. When we spoke earlier he emphasized that he might be drunk. I was uninvolved because I was staying under the radar as much as possible. As far as these guys were aware I was just some computer tech drop out who failed all his classes for a job I lost when the market crashed. As far as they were concerned all I had to do with it was telling him the software worked. Even though I patented it for him.
If anything did go wrong I didn't get blamed, but if everything goes accordingly I keep the credit between me and Ishmiel. That way when we draw out and he goes under the radar with his, "It's not a one mans job sob story," I'm in the clear and can use my name freely without suspicion. When I patented my software coding I created for the cryptocurrency I did it with his name, his signature, his passport and DL, a fake mustache, his hat, and his glasses. Of course with his permission. Between me and him it was one hundred percent legitimate.
It was a place only I could go because I had the reference. Although I went there anonymously I still had to ask by my reference for a specific guy so my friend could make a buck from the price I paid. It was my first time I ever patented anything in my life. Although I was positive he knew nothing about an Ishmiel if they ever asked him about me he probably would just think I was one of the hundreds of people he had met before. It was completely safe despite that what I had done was completely illegal and if caught I would've blown our cover and ruined everything for Ishmiel and I despite the fact that I did it with his consent and permission. I could say that as much as I wanted it wouldn't matter to him, and he could say it as much as he wanted but they wouldn't care. They would want to know why, and that would set us both back.
It was one of the risky things of many that we had gone over when we started discussing the logistics of our final game plan and backing out. Besides Ishmiel had a busy day that day and it was the only day available for weeks, They were completely booked, and who's to say if someone else would have came in with the same idea or similar? Like always we did what we had to do and had each others back. As long as we gave each other permission we were good and didn't worry. I personally would never let anyone do anything under my name, and neither would he. This was the only exception based upon how important the patent was, time sensitivity, our connections, and our ultimate plan.
Kicking in the door with my gun in my hand from behind my back I made a point to reveal my presence. Worst case scenario was that he was kidnapped and not even here. Second worst case scenario? There was a girl in his bed, and I was gonna be the friend that walked in on them or that interrupts them. It was against the bro code , but there was other scenarios. When he didn't answer when we had plans I had no choice but draw my gun and welcome myself in. There had been times I have saved his life in doing so, and then there has been a couple of times that it has been downright embarrassing.
No one came running out from the living room, the basement, or the hall way as I turned the light on. Walking as I slowly listened there was no sound. By the looks of it there was no sign of breaking and entering, there was no sign of struggle. Nothing. I could smell stale cigarettes and garbage wafting from the kitchen. There was a mess all over the ground. Unlike Ishmiel I was very neat, organized, and particular about my space. I couldn't keep a mess long, but being that he was entirely the opposite he couldn't keep a mess away for long. That's a way we were different, but I didn't blame him. Only when he started complaining about the things that would not be had he kept his place cleaner.
Walking up quietly to his door i could hear faint yelling coming from his room. Being that it was soundproof I could make anything out from what they were saying. It sounded like him and a girl. pfft. I figured as much. Putting my gun behind my back I knocked on his door with my right hand holding myself up with my left. Here I was getting a pounding migraine standing outside his door. Couldn't have possibly came at a worse time. Arguably. It could have, when I am trying to sleep later.
I heard silence that I heard a muffled gun shot. I nearly jumped out of my skin grabbing my gun and running down the hallway backwards. I turned off the safety and cocked in the blink of an eye. Watching as the door opened I held it up ready to aim it at whoever was opening the door. Little to my surprise there was a girl who stepped out first and he followed behind her. Holding the gun up to her head I could see blood dripping off his arm. Whoever she was she hit him and he got the gun. Looking at me with a crazy look in his eye he said, "Put the gun down. NOW!"
